- Certainly different
I have listened to this album many times and it always strikes me as being unique. Certainly it is very pretensious, but so was all of the posing and imagery of the time. The tracks are an eclectic mix of synth music with Strange's vocals over the top, and instrumentals such as "The Dancer" with a beat that could almost pass for some of the glam rock tunes of the decade before. It is not music you can dance to; but as I recall from visits to Strange's clubs of the time (Club Blitz, Club for Heroes etc) that wasn't the point. You listened and posed and checked-out everyone else. The album really evokes the era well.
- Just what I expected.
Got this in a timely manner with a good price. It is exactly the quirky 80's standout that I remember. I personally find "mind of toy a bit annoying" but "fade to gray" and the rest of the album is pretty cool. It certainly helped to push musical boundaries a bit at the time of its release. I found this to be a very imaginative work. I have periodically looked for this album but it was not easy to find. It is hard for me to place this electronica into category, and I think that is what makes this a standout album for me.

- "FADE TO GRAY", THE BEST POPSONG EVER
"Fade to gray" has everything. This kind of music will only be produced once.
