Utada Hikaru Album: “Exodus '04”

This is just a collection of remixes of "Exodus '04" from her album Exodus. The best version is the first one in my opinion.

The song itself is about a young woman moving out of her parent's house for the first time to live with her boyfriend. Her parents are concerned that she's not ready or that he isn't right for her but she is asking them to trust her to take care of herself now and not to worry too much. This is one of my favorite songs from Utada; there's lots of poetic imagery.

I give this album a 4 but I am a die-hard Utada fan and I honestly like all the songs.

However, I would only recommend it to die hard fans. The generic public would not find this album too appealing. You might like songs like Exodus '04 (the original), Kremlin Dusk(maybe),and You Make Me Want To Be A Man Bloodshy & Avant Mix...

If you're new to Utada, I HIGHLY recommend however that you listen to the DEEP RIVER album. I suppose I would also recommend the Prisoner of Love and Flavor of Life singles. If you're curious as to what they sound like, try typing in the songs [...]

But overall, THIS album is definitely not her best.

First and foremost, I am the biggest Utada Hikaru fan on this side of the western hemisphere, but I mean COME ON! This single remix album could have been soooooo much better. Exodus is my favorite track off of her debut album, but the remixes do not give the original justice. Too bad the original cut is not present on this album. Before I butcher the whole album, there is one really good remix, a sultry smooth track that is called, "Josh Harris' Exodus Experience". I recommend Utada's Exodus album and devil inside remix album, and if you can obtain her Japanese albums by all means get them, but only the diehard fan should pick this one up.
