Tom Jones Album: “The Best of Tom Jones”

Tom Jones Album: “The Best of Tom Jones”
Description :
THE BEST OF TOM JONES is probably the most thorough and entertaining of the many Tom Jones compilations available. Twenty-two tracks are exquisitely remastered to let every one of those over-the-top string sections and all of Jones' manly bellows reverberate as nature intended. <p>All of Jones' biggest hits are included, from 1964's "What's New Pussycat," through such definitive Jones classics as "It's Not Unusual," "She's a Lady," and "Delilah," all the way up to his tongue-in-cheek comeback with the Art Of Noise, a 1989 electro-shock collaboration on Prince's "Kiss." Too long thought of as merely a kitsch figure, Jones is an undeniable talent. However, it seems that either you get him or you don't. If you get him, this is the anthology to get.

- the voice that leads

Whoever taught Tom Jones to sing should receive an award. One for being hip enough to teach him timing and soulfull enough to teach him emphasis. Anyway, this is a great album. I especially like Kansas City. Tom has a way of bringing a song to life - and this one rocks! Georgia on My Mind is a refreshing change from the legend Ray Charles. The best song on the album is "Sixteen Tons". I don't know where it fell in Tom Jones' life but his fantastic rendition still has Tennessee Earnie Ford rolling in his grave! Great song! Great Collection of a living legend! My only complaint with this album is that "She's a Lady" is not included. I consider that song one of Tom's best songs and should have found its way onto this collection. In its absence, however is many forgotten classics like: Danny Boy, Detroit City, Love Me Tonight, and What's New Pussycat?". This is an album you can put on and do almost anything to. Great album.

- For MOM

I got my 75 year old mom a CD player for her birthday, and decided to find all the music I remembered her listening to when I was growing up. This is one of them! Thank you for making it so easy to find.

- Bare chested Tom Jones

This is a very good cd but I was so spoiled with the Tom Jones' Reloaded Greatest Hits cd that this just doesn't do it for me quite as much. Don't get me wrong - it's Tom Jones and that great voice - but not quite as good as his newer cd that I bought.

- pretty to the ears

this guy has really got a great set of ...... pipes. this is lounge music at it's best. if you like the sound in old school vegas or ac check him out. i found another cd here on amazon that has kiss and delilah so i ordered it. the sound is actually kind of addicting and 16 tons is mentally stimulating!
