Disco de The Four Seasons: “Gold Vault of Hits”
 Descripción (en inglés) :
A well-programmed, if necessarily incomplete (only 12 tracks) best-of by one of the great critically underappreciated bands of the '60s. The song selection splits the difference between the Season's pure pop side (the often covered "Silence Is Golden," "Let's Hang On") and their more socially relevant material, including working-class realist epics like "Rag Doll: and "Dawn (Go Away)" that on both the musical and lyrical level were tremendous unacknowledged influences on Bruce Springsteen. If you prefer the pure pop stuff, however, there's no need to apologize; in fact, thanks to Seasons songwriter Bob Gaudio's infectious tunes, lead singer Frankie Valli's seemingly helium-induced falsetto, and Bob Crewe's psychedelically vivid productions, one can make a reasonable case that some of the stuff here is the purest pop music ever made.

- Back To The Sixties
Every once in a while us older folks catch a swing of melancholy for those 'growing up years', those terrible teens when we were trying to literally grow new skin. The sixties were such a time for me and one of the most lucid memories for me was when mom gave me a 45rpm single of "Rag Doll" with the flip, "Silence Is Golden" and I subsequently drove her out of her mind playing it over and over and over. Subsequently, to keep her sanity, she bought me the album I am discussing right here. Man, I was in heaven! I am deaf, and have to hear with an aid, but I loved the beat and harmonics of this group, became an instant fan, and still feel that this album is the best of the lot; one where ALL the songs are worth listening to again and again. I'm not so certain how music affects others as far as creating a memory point in time, but at that time and for years thereafter, I would have one of the songs on this album playing constantly in my head and the result was that whatever event in my life happened during that time, playing that certain song again seems to be the catalyst to awaken photographs in my mind of that event. So I look at this album as basically, a childhood event, that at 54, I only have to pop into the CD player and take a trip back to the sixties. Yeah, a great do-wop album by probably the most famous white do-wop group of all time and a group who faced up to the Beatles and the Beach Boys in their hey-day and never blinked.
- Gold Vault deserves Five Gold Stars!
I've had this album on vinyl for years. It is truly one of the best compilation LPs by The 4 Seasons. Frankie Valli is at his best! Everyone song (including the B sides) are excellent! The CD sounds fantastic. The cover is a reproduction of the original album without the black trim around the "Gold Vault Of Hits" title which was the original first pressing. I recommend this to any 4 Seasons fan!

- Jersey Boyz
Yeup...you guessed it, my Mom had this one when i was growing up as well.
Man! who doesn't like Frankie Valli & the 4 Seasons, come on!
This album lead me to purchase Vault of Hits Vol.2 when i first started out being able to buying my own music, but this one is far more my favorite of the two.
Jersey Boys on stage is doing well and so is their music after all these years, Well why not, why would there be a Broadway Musical for some of the best music to come out of the 60's...There's Mamma Mia for ABBA...good too.
There aint no gooood in are goodbyin, True love taaaakes a lot of tryin, Oh i'm cryin. So Lets Hang On to this one. Get this one, you woult regret it.
Alright, Happy listening.

- Great album
I was probably about 9 years old when "Rag Doll" hit the AM radio stations but I remember it like it was yesterday. These guys had great harmony. My brother owned this album and it was lost long ago so I just had to buy the CD. Good overview of some of their greatest hits.
