The Four Seasons Album: “Let's Hang on & 11 Other Hits: Original Classics.”
Description :
Full title: Let's Hang On & 11 Other Hits: Original Classics Collection Vol. 6.
The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito, Joe Long.
This 1966 effort is a slight return to the Season's original formula, in that there are covers, albeit beautifully sung, of two '50s R&B hits that they probably cut their teeth on, in this case the Platters' melodramatic "My Prayer" and the Diamond's "Little Darlin'." The rest of the album, however, finds the group coming to terms with the then-current craze for Dylanesque folk rock ("Everybody Knows My Name" and the right-wing anti-protest song "Beggars Parade"), while its three big hits--"Working My Way Back to You", "Let's Hang On," and "Opus 17"--are well-crafted, self-conscious emulations of Motown and the Beatles.

- The jams they took out were great!

This is the Curb Records packaging of FV/FS great "Working My Way Back To You" album...it's ok, except, the powers that be took some of the better jams out of the original repertoire and replaced them with jams they thought would suit whatever... "Sundown", "Can't Get Enough of You Baby" and "Coming Out in the World" were strong enough to be able to be singles....in fact, several other groups including Smash Mouth has done "Can't Get enough..." and I was raging elsewhere about albums made into CDs with jams out of order--different ain't always better. So hopefully we can stop the powers that be of this practice....

- REALLY GOOD STUFF BY FRANKIE AND THE BOYS

WHAT A GREAT CD. THE SOUND QUALITY IS EXCELLENT CONSIDERING THE AGE OF THE RECORDINGS. I AM REALLY GLAD TO SEE OPUS 17 ON THE CD. I THINK IT IS ONE OF THE FOUR SEASON'S MOST UNDERRATED SONGS. I ALSO LIKE THE SONG MY PRAYER

- Was as advertised

I received my CD in a timely manner, and though it was used, it was advertised as new. It seems to be just as advertised. I am very satisfied and will purchase from this person again.
