Análisis (en inglés) - :
{^The Beach Boys Party!} is an anomaly. The legend is that this project was devised as a method of buying time for {$Brian Wilson} to complete what would ultimately become {^Pet Sounds}. However, it might be more accurate to say that {^The Beach Boys Party!} was designed to provide the additional product the record label needed for the Christmas 1965 season. Regardless of the reason, {^… Party!} became {$the Beach Boys}' tenth long-player in less than 36 months. {^Unsurpassed Masters, Vol. 10} examines over four hours of tapes recorded to compile the half-hour {^… Party!} album. Contrary to another legend, the album was most certainly not recorded during an actual get-together anywhere else than {~Studio #2} at {~Western Recorders}. One unique characteristic to these sessions is that at various points during the recordings, all five touring {$Beach Boys} contribute in one significant way or another. Included among the permanent tour personnel is {$Bruce Johnstone}, who took the place of {$Glen Campbell}, who was filling in for the now reclusive {$Brian Wilson}. Percussionist {$Hal Blaine}, producer {$Terry Melcher}, and {$Jan Berry} of {$Jan and Dean} are among the professional "party guests." Other guests not making union scale include {$Beach Boys} mom {$Audree Wilson} and {Brian Wilson}'s wife and former {$Honeys} member, {$Marilyn Wilson}. At first, the entourage plunder their way through some of their favorite '50s and '60s {\rock}, {\R&B}, and {\folk} songs. While only 14 tracks made the final album, there were many others rehearsed. These include: {&"Ticket to Ride,"} {&"Ruby Baby,"} {&"Blowin' in the Wind,"} {&"Riot in Cell Block #9,"} {&"Satisfaction,"} {&"Heart and Soul,"} and {&"Smokey Joe's Café."} The first three discs include the raw recording sessions -- unplugged and acoustic -- while the fourth and final disc is a stereo mix of the composite tape used to create the actual {^Beach Boys Party!} album. ~ Lindsay Planer, All Music Guide
