- An Excellent Remix CD, Though It Could Have Been Done Better

Now I'm a huge Thalia fan, but when I read on her website that her fans would dance like they never danced before to a surprise coming in February, I was expecting a remix album-but with new remixes. I love this CD, I do, but I have had quite a few of the tracks on here already because I collect Thalia singles. I already owned No Me Ensenaste (Estefano Remix), Mujer Latina (Remix Espana, also known as the Zero Remix), Tu y Yo (Ballad Version), and Por Amor (Primera Vez Remix). So this was just thrown together, really. Also a downside is that they could have added remixes of Regresa a Mi, Reencarnacion, and De Donde Soy which were hits, perhaps the spanglish remix of Echa Pa Lante, and the Tapati club mix of Amandote, the latter of which I have yet to hear and was hoping to find here. I would also like to know why the closing track is called % El Mar...why the %? I would like to know. They also really really messed Tu y Yo up, though. They should have added the excellent Masters at Bed Remix instead of the ballad version. Why a ballad version? It's a remix CD.

Still, this is an essential Thalia CD for fans like myself. We must have everything. By the way the CD cover here is wrong, the actual cover is slightly better looking. It shows her in the A Quien La Importa? video. If you are reading this two years after I wrote this than Amazon has almost definitely corrected this error, but, interestingly, the picture they have here is the same picture on the cover of the A Quien La Importa? promo CD single which was released to DJs and radio personnel solely.

The remixes here really are worth this CD's purchase though, notably for the Por Amor (Primera Vez Remix), if you don't already have it, which I tell you is the absolute best remix ever created even though the remix would have worked better with a more vocally and lyrically dramatic song than one with a happy beat. The A Quien La Importa? (Hex Hector/Mac Quayle Club Remix) is splendid. Far better than the LP version. And the remixes of Piel Morena, Amor a La Mexicana and The Mexican are all excellent, especially the latter two. The version of The Mexican here is the Spanish one. If you purchase the 5-track import CD single of it you'll get 5 great remixes of the english track, including the exact same remix (also by Hex Hector and Mac Quayle) in English. The enhanced video is also excellent.

Stay tuned for Thalia's crossover album due in June 2003, which will be called FULL IMPACT. The leadoff single, I Want You, a duet with Fat Joe, will hit radio soon and you can listen to a thirty-second sample of it at Thalia's official website, thalia.com.

- Gold Solid Gold!!!!!!

Altho maybe i should say Platinum Solid Platinum!!! I'm a Huge fan of Thalia"s and a Huge fan of remixes so ive been looking forward to the releaseof this CD since i first heard about it. But even I was unprepared to be so totally Blown away by Thalia's latest offering! If you liked her last CD "Thalia" your gonna love these remixes! The CD isproduced by Thalia and shows all the love, care, and hard work that go into all of her productions. And What a voice! Powerful, clear, full of sunshine, you can literally "see" her smile in each song. The remixes are done with style, spirit, and a savvyness that comes from Thalia understanding her audience. From "a quien le importa" to the "el mar/arrasando medley" she really tears it up! Theres only one word left to say..."More" Thalia, please give us some more remixes! 5 stars? There arent enough stars in any galaxy to fully describe how great this CD is!

- DANCE, DANCE INDEED!!!

Although for what ever strange reason, THE MEXICAN 'DANCE DANCE' English version was included ( it only appears in Spanish) the CD

it self is great!

Some of the remixes are just awesome and to mentioned... AMOR ALA MEXICAN (with the most infectious dance beat ever), the

I personally think, that if Thalia is wanting a cross-over, this here can indeed be what she needs and my advice to her if this happens is ... Stick to the brilliant people behind this very well crafted and though out CD, cause, this musical genre

From house to trance to merenguehouse, you name it, this girl has it all and it's all for you in this one CD of her most famous single tracks.

- It's Time To "Dance Dance"

This time Thalia wants everyone to dance like crazy. Feel like dancing? Well, this album will do. Just listen to the floor-filling beat of "A Quien Le Importa/ Club Vocal Mix Hex Hector-Mac Qualye Re-Mixes" or "The Mexican 'Dance Dance'"/ Hex Hector-Mac Qualye Radio Remix". Want some latin rhythm? "Amor A La Mexicana/ Cuca's Fiesta Mix" or "Entre El Mar Y Una Estrella/ Pablo Flores Club Mix" are good choices. Now, if you want to listen to a kind-of-weird ballad, listen to the ballad version of "Tu Y Yo". It sounds different from regular ballads, especially the chorus. "It's My Party", the English version of Thalia's hit "Arrasando", is also included in this album. The ballad "No Me Enseñaste" is also in this album in its remix version. Other songs that will make everyone dance are the remixes of "Piel Morena", "Mujer Latina", "Por Amor", and the medley of "% El Mar Y Arrasando". This is totally a must-have album. The enhanced portion of this album includes the video for "¿A Quien Le Importa?".
