The label of "britpop" that this band wears is due mainly to their first album, "I Should Coco." On the next three albums, they moved increasingly away from that genre, or at least expanded outward to include other sounds. Nonetheless, it's an acceptably accurate term to describe them, and this collection provides a nearly perfect overview of their first four releases. Are there songs missing that I would've included? Sure, but isn't that always the way with retrospectives? By and large, "Supergrass is 10" does an excellent job of covering the singles as well as some more off-the-wall tracks that give you a full picture of the Supergrass experience. And even if you own the first four albums already, the two new songs recorded for this release, "Kiss of Life" and "Bullet," make it well worth having for completists. "Bullet" is right up there with their best stuff.
The coolest band of the last decade, nicely packaged for your enjoyment. Hard to beat that.
