- What a Performer!

I just returned from a concert given by Soraya to a large crowd at the South Street Seaport here in New York City. Soraya, a Colombian born singer who has been up an coming these past few years is truly a star in every definition. Captivating, compelling, charming, and truly talented (she doesn't have to rely on any family's name nor a big behind like several Latin celebrities nowadays) Soraya blew me away! With not a single trace of an accent when she sang in English, Soraya reminded me of a Latina version of Jewel mixed with a little bit of Lisa Loeb. But unlike those two stars, Soraya is original.

This album, her current, is one of the best I heard in years. She is a true performer in the way she acknowledges her audience and how she gives her appreciation to her amazing band. Hear my words, Soraya will make an impact where other stars of the so-called "Latin Boom" have not really been successful, and that is having a direct relationship with her audience.

After the concert, she even took her time to speak to her fans and signed albums. To bring an example of how truly memorable Soraya is when she pointed to a member of an audience whom she met in Puerto Rico a few months ago. She was on a popular local show called "No Te Duermas," and a practical joke was played on her. She found a huge guitar on her side while interviewing her, opened it and found a naked guy in there. Remarking on what a small word it is, Soraya gave him recognition giving her such a humorous event.

The album is a mixture of folk and popular music, and incorporates various music styles, from rock to a bit of classical. Overall, this artist and this album should not be missed by anyone.

I guarantee that she will become a star very soon! Till then, experience what the music world will be talking about in the near future before they do.

- good one.

Awesome. I wish I had more stars to give her. Her style has been very dynamic from the begining. She is definetely a great latin ambassador in a hispanic market always crowded with the same rithms. She was and still is my favorite!.

- Excellent genre crosser

I really love Soraya's voice no matter what she is singing. The songs on this album are upbeat and fun, even if I don't understand what she's singing quite often.

Speaking only english I'm somewhat handicapped at interpreting her meaning, but quite able to spot a glorious voice when I hear it.

I don't buy too many non english albums but I wouldn't hesitate to buy anything of hers...

I like her stuff as much as Marisa Monte's, which is saying something... Two great singers I wish would work together...

buy this!!

I love this cd, soraya is an amazing singer. I was shock when i heard the song "CUERPO Y ALMA"/"I'M YOURS"...After that i buy it this cd and i'm so happy cuz' here i found a versatile group of songs as "La Misma Historia" " Half" "Despues de Amar Así" "Cuerpo y Alma" and my favourite personal "Algo Tan Mío".
