- Sheena's Sophomore Success

Sheena Easton's second album may not have had a smash single of the "Morning Train" caliber on the charts, but with the quiet beauty of "When He Shines" this album is a worthy successor to her self-titled debut. Finally back in print with the addition of bonus tracks makes this a must-have for Sheena Easton fans.

- Sheena sings!

This CD arrived and brings back memories. I would recommend this to anyone that enjoyed her in the past. So clear, too.

- THE TRUTH ABOUT SHEENA

Ive read the other reviews on Sheena Easton and quite frankly there are those of us that like what someone calls the "so-called cheesy 80s upbeat tunes" Such as: letter From Joey, Johnny. It is a classic album, both in the ballads and the upbeat tracks.

- Sheena's Longest Running Album On BillBoard

Although Easton's follow up did not surpass her debut on the charts, it spent a whole year on the Billboard 200 making it her longest running LP.

The Singapore, Hong kong and Malaysia vinyl contained my absolute fave Isn't It So replaced by When He Shines on the States version. So it's a good thing to have this as a bonus CD track along with Bond theme For Your Eyes Only and No One Ever Knows - the latter another glorious number from Easton's UK debut Take My Time.

You Could Have Been With Me is a little more rock oriented compared with the pop confections of its predecessor. It's tracks like I'm Not Worth The Hurt, Savoir Faire and Telephone Lines that made this a timeless classic. Easton carries these tunes so elegantly that I still sing along to the reissue like I did all those years ago.

The cover shot is probably the best in her catalogue as it is one you would most likely associate Easton with.

- Sheena At Her Best!

If you are into Sheena Easton or just great pop singers in general, this album is a MUST HAVE. Sheena's vocals on this album are just spectacular. Her singing, on "When He Shines", "Isn't it so", "I'm Not Worth the Hurt", "For Your Eyes Only", & "You Could Have Been With Me", is truly mesmerizing. There are enough up-tempo pop songs, including "A Little Tenderness", to keep everyone happy. But the ballads are really what separate Sheena from the other singers. Her voice is at once powerful & tender with a great octave range and first-rate phrasing. While I'm also a fan of Celine Dion's singing, I don't believe she possesses the same beautiful sweet vocal quality that Sheena had. The notes, the range, and the phrasing are there. But that gentle lilting quality combined with her enunciation & clarity of voice make Sheena's singing something truly to behold. Do yourself a favor and buy this album. You won't regret it.
