- 1337est Fans=teh suck
Comftorably Numb is a great song and you would be hard pressed to find someone who denies this, so I understand (and agree) that there is a certain expectation whenever anyone attempts to work with this song. But just as the original is great/classic music, so is this remix by the Scissor Sisters(though, to be fair it's only great music and not classic like the original). So don't listen to all these elitest fans who look down their nose at anything remotly different than the original.

- I dig the camp disco that is Comfortably Numb
This track is not the best on Scissor Sistors' debut album (but then what a killer debut album!) but it is an enjoyable song. The discofication of such a depressing Floyd tune brings a smile to my face every time. For those bent out of shape that the Scissor Sistors cover somehow makes a mockery of or insults Pink Floyd or in anyway diminishes the original version you should relax a bit. If you dislike songs that are not classic rock, then just listen to classic rock radio and keep away from top 40 or disco. If you think that the original has somehow been tarnished, dust off your copy, and give it a listen. I am betting it sounds just like it did before the Scissor Sisters covered it. :)

- Maybe a little less Roger Waters is what everyone needs
I was really surprised by this track and wound up loving it. It's a great, complex track and a lot of fun. The falsetto voices and camped-up music so perfectly done are an incredible counter to overly-dramatic Roger Waters lyrics. I never thought these depressive lyrics could ever be played with anything other than methadone-soaked guitar work.
Pink Floyd purists aren't going to like this track, but as a recovering Pink Floyd fan, I think it's pretty excellent. If only somebody could do something with Dark Side of the Moon...

- put away the pink floyd bias
well believe it or not, i had never heard the original version of comfortably numb by Pink Floyd, so i wasnt biased.(didnt grow up listening to that sort of music)
i personally love this BeeGees/Blondie tinged disco track. its all about the fun.
if you can divorce yourself that its a cover version, its a pretty great track on its own.

- Made me feel sick to listen to
I'm a fan of many different styles of music from different eras, but I do have a discriminating taste. I like good music, this is bad... real bad. A half-a$$ disco tune with horrible vocals. It sounds like a couple of tone deaf 14 year old girls singing along with "Staying Alive", while managing to butcher one of the most well respected classic rock anthems of all time. "Comfortably Numb" should have never been twisted into this hideous beast of trite rythm and harmony, a clumsy regurgitation of what was once good. It makes me sick thinking of the people who bought this twaddle and made it a best selling single. Shameful.
