Disco de Robyn: “Rakamonie EP [EP]”
Descripción (en inglés) :
THE RAKAMONIE EP, a companion piece of sorts to the self-titled comeback, pairs Robyn's oddball hip-hop single "Konichiwa Bitches" with four previously unreleased tracks. The Swedish songstress has more going on behind the hooks than at first it may appear. Both re-workings from ROBYN, the mournful ballad version of "Be Mine" and the breezy acoustic take on "With Every Heartbeat" reveal an emotional depth behind the pop diva's acrobatic vocals; meanwhile, the unlikely set closer, a vaudevillian re-imagining of Prince's "Jack U Off," reveals a pop artist unafraid of risks.

- Review of Robyn's Rakamonie - 41/2 stars

Every song on the Rakamonie is what quality is all about. It left me wanting more and each song was incredibly different from the song that played before it. Robyn never stopped being too cool for skool, but when she cut her hair again and released this EP, she reminded us of why she's in a league of her own.

Konichiwa Bitches - same version on original Robyn release, but on this EP it has a little voiceover intro. Robyn sounds about 10 years old on this intro, which is so cute.

Cobrastyle - a cover song and Robyn did it better than the original. This song is mad cool! My fave line is, "Certain little boys I just stop deal with. Tell you they your friend and then bad-mouth again".

Be Mine - stripped down all the way and is better than the fast version. It's absolutely beautiful and her passion is obvious.

List of Demands - fun to hear and sing. Robyn's serious side, remniscent of My Truth. The only problem is Jenny Wilson's horrible voice.

Jack U Off - Robyn's unpredictable here with this Prince cover. To hear such an innocent-sounding voice sing those words ... weirdly wonderful.

- Even if u have the album GET THIS!

The only songs that are the same here as on the album are 'Konichiwa B*tches' and 'Cobrastyle'. 'Be Mine!' is a wonderfully amazing ballad version and there is an acoustic of 'Whith Every Heartbeat - With Kleerup' which is just as good. and there is also an amazingly good (and funny) cover of Prince's 'Jack U Off'. definately a must have for any Robyn Fan!

- Rakan' Robyn!!

Robyn Carlsson has been a noteworthy pop artist for over a decade, but unfortunately like so many other European pop stars, she has only had limited success in the United States. That may soon change. Robyn is no longer the petite teen who sang the unforgettably catchy 1997 hits '(Do You Know) What it Takes" and "Show Me Love." But she still has the dynamic voice, which wraps flawlessly around her beats, which make even the most original work by Timbaland and Danja seem outdated and irrelevant. The Rakamonie is a sound that is unique, and it belongs to Robyn. The catchy single Konitchiwa B***ches puts the self-absorbed pretention of American hip-hop to shame. Robyn can beat Britney, Fergie, and Gwen all at their own game, and this EP is just a taste of what she has to offer. The song "Cobrastyle" will stick in your head for WEEKS. You will bob your head and hum along, regardless of whatever type of music you like. Robyn Carlsson, now only 28, is on the verge of establishing herself as the world's top female pop talent....and I stress talent. Her 2005 album (which was re-issued in 2007 and includes the hit "With Every Heartbeat) is perhaps the best female vocal pop record of the decade.
