Ricky Martin Album: “MTV Unplugged”
 Description :
Recording information: 2006.
<p>Since his mainstream American breakthrough, Ricky Martin has been associated largely with slick dance-pop. One of the pleasant surprises of this MTV UNPLUGGED set is that it finds Martin returning to an earlier, more organic sound. The UNPLUGGED aesthetic suggests a quiet, stripped-down approach, but that's not necessarily the case here. Martin has a huge band behind him, including horns and strings, but the inventive arrangements and straightforward approach--not to mention the Spanish-only lyrics--present the artist in a refreshingly natural context. The sharp, dynamic performances, on the part of both Martin and his band, don't hurt matters, either.

- You wanted him to be real? Here it is!
This is by far the best Ricky Martin Album he ever recorded. This is him in his natural state and does not dissapoints for a second. New versions of his old hits (thanks God we dont have his "vida loca" here) and 3 brand new songs. Tu recuerdo, Pegate and Con tu nombre are some of his finest work so far. Id definately recommend any fan of this guy to get this record asap. Get the DVD as well, cause you will see lots of more of things on there. His record "life" was good, "sound loaded" was fine and his english debut was ok. This one, however, outshines all of those 3, together. You wont regret it...and NO, you do NOT need to know Spanish to feel this album. Ricky Martin music is just getting better, something I never thought Id say someday, keep it up man. Higly recommended.

- EXTRA IMPRESIONANTE
Excelentísimo trabajo por parte de Ricky Martin y Tommy Torres. Aquí vemos a un Ricky más adulto y cómico. Las canciones tienen un arreglo bien natural, me gusta mucho y les gustará.

- Wonderfully Surprised
Despite the fact that he is a fellow Puerto Rican, I was never drawn to Ricky Martin nor his music. In fact, I've never listened to any of his songs besides the obvious Livin' La Vida Loca. A friend who is a musician recommended that I purchase it and did without regrets. The musical arrangements are superb as well as the instrumentation. Martin's voice is in good shape too. I think it was about time he did something like this so people will start taking his artistry more seriously.

- Excellent!
This is a phenomenal cd that I truly enjoy listenig to. The acoustic format lends such a different dimension to his music and proves that good music does not need heavy and zealous production to be brilliant -- it shines on its own merit. He is in fine voice and I believe this cd emphasizes that Ricky is not a flash-in-the-pan product of music industry sharks out to capitalize on his good looks and charisma. With nothing to hide behind, an acoustic venue such as this shows an artist's true talent, for good or bad. Ricky's talent speaks for itself here and proves him to be the true musician and artist he has never received proper credit for.

- Brutal!!!
Este CD es muy bueno y uno se lo disfruta completito, Ricky vuelve a sus raices y le cae muy bien por que el primer sencillo "Tu Recuerdo" es espectacular, y se escucha un Ricky muy conectado con su audiencia.
