The grooving pop of the title-track is less hip-hop oriented than Pink's previous hits, sounding more like an amiable collision between Smash Mouth and Sugar Ray. "Don't Let Me Get Me" and "Just Like a Pill" tread even closer to pop-rock territory, the latter bearing an anthemic quality that wouldn't sound out of place on an Alanis Morissette album. The appropriately titled "Get the Party Started is a funky party anthem, and the rap-flavored "Respect" is a modern urban update on the classic Aretha theme. Whether she's making her way through pop, rock, rap, or R&B, Pink struts confidently enough through M!SSUNDAZTOOD to assure her admirers that she intends to stick around for quite a while.

- M!ssundaztood

Well I'm so glad I bought this and really can't skip a single song. I had heard "GET THIS PARTY STARTED" and fell in love. Pink's new album is even better than her first one last year. I recommend this to anybody looking for some good tunes full of passionate lyrics.

1. M!SSUNDAZTOOD - I love this song, very catchy and upbeat. Love the end skit. 4 stars out of 5

2. DON'T LET ME GET ME - Very rockish, with a electric guitar and very strong vocals that stand out. 4 stars out of 5

3. JUST LIKE A PILL - OMG I love this song!!! Nice opening. 5 stars out of 5

4. GET THIS PARTY STARTED - Sooooo catchy! Anybody who can't get pumped up with this must be dead. I'm lovin the electronica and hip-hop mix, kinda Madonna ish. 5 out of 5

5. RESPECT (FEAT. SCRATCH) - Wow Pink pulls off another great dance song, with a awesome beat and incredible messege! It samples the "R-e-s-p-e-c-t" chorus of Aretha Franklin's 60's hit. 4 out of 5

6. 18 WHEELER - Your upbeat rock-pop. Love the guitar. 4 out of 5

7. FAMILY PORTRAIT - This is a niiice song. It has a rap feel, but not too much. Sad, sad, lyrics that make you think about divorce & broken homes. 5 out of 5

8. MISERY (FEAT. STEVEN TYLER) - They sound soooo good together!!!! I couldn't believe, its' like they should have recorded from the start! 5 out of 5

9. DEAR DIARY - Kind of reminds me of Fiona Apple's 1997 hit "Criminal." Love the hypnotic beat. 5 out of 5

10. EVENTUALLY - A slow paced ballad with strings. Its about revenge on people who try to use Pink and turn their back on her. 4 out of 5

11. LONELY GIRL - Nice rock song. The most classical rock song, as it has a Beatles 60's era sound to it. 4 out of 5

12. NUMB - Hard femme rock at its best. Love it. 5 out of 5

13. GONE TO CALIFORNIA - A very sad, slow ballad about how bad of a shape Philadelphia is in. Nice melody. 5 out of 5

14. MY VIETNAM - A great rock tune about Pink's confusing life and wars. 5 out of 5

- Pink finds new direction

Pink's sophomore effort Missundaztood finds the 20-year-old Pennsylvanian acting less like an R&B bad girl and more like a pop-rock princess. Those expecting to find a "Can't Take Me Home Part II" are sadly mistaken. Fans of her first album must come into Missundaztood with clean ears. Gone are the urban "ching ching, bling bling" references, a new direction is evident. The once urban Pink has gone suburban, trading in the Fubu for leather and lace. Of the fourteen tracks that grace the album, only a few are R&B oriented. A far cry from her first record, which featured no rock tracks whatsoever, here they predominate. Though Lilith Fair it isn't. The production on Pink's latest offering is as slick as anything on TRL (Total Request Live). The hip-hop drum patterns that she rode to superstardom during her debut are surprisingly mute; in its place are electric guitars and folk-flavored acoustics. Also absent are many dance tracks. The only solid dance track is her first single "Get The Party Started," a post-psychedelic 60s-meets-21st-century romp. The rest of the subject matter is more introspective.

"It ain't easy growing up in World War III," she croons. There's a surprising sense of vulnerability displayed throughout the album. Here we find Pink reflective and confessional. She's a bad girl, but she has feelings. She sings about life, loss and longing. Lyrically, Pink has never been more heartfelt and revealing. Everything from parental hardship to sleazy ex-girlfriends is discussed. Vocally, Pink sounds assured and confident. In "Don't Let Me Get Me," Pink makes an effort to distance herself from her teen contemporaries: "tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears/she's so pretty, that just ain't me." Ironically, in her distancing she winds up sounding more TRL-esque on her latest album than her last.

Missundaztood is more like a masquerade. If she isn't sounding like Tori Amos or Natalie Imbruglia, she's a dredless Lauryn Hill ("Eventually") or a female Eminem ("Family Portrait"). Where Pink lacks in artistic coherence, she makes up for in creativity. In "My Vietnam" she correlates her perils to the sounds of detonating bombs. Towards the end of the song is a sonic interpolation of Jimi Hendrix's "Star Spangled Banner." While introspection dominates a majority of the album, bitterness never subsides. A healthy level of will power and optimism is present. Fans of the old man-eating Pink from the first album will enjoy "Respect," where she disenfranchises potential "playas" and empowers her fellow femme fatales. The overall vibe of Missundaztood is less aggressive and more self-determined. She takes an empowered role in such songs as "18 Wheeler" and the radio-ready "Just Like A Pill." Overall, Pinks latest album is an introspective charmer that shows the promise and versatility evident in a young and rising star.

- Real Music

I've read several reviews here that made me laugh. People who take every lyric literally should not buy this album. If you buy the album solely to hear "Get the Party Started" you may be disappointed. This is not a Britney/Nsync catchy pop album to choreograph dance routines to! It is, however, an indepth look into the soul of an artist that isn't afraid to be herself. Pink takes the road less traveled with this album. Unlike "Get the Party Started, most of the songs are deeply introspective. "Just Like A Pill", one of my faves on the album, is lyrically outstanding and one of the best songs I've heard in a long time. ... Although Pink attempts to express herself in Missundaztood, she is not vulgar or crude. Other ultrahighlights(since the entire album is a highlight) include the anti-conformist "Don't let me get me", "Family Portrait",and the Steven Tyler-Pink duet "Misery". Although I loved Pink's last album, I would have to say that this is a step forward for her. I recommend picking up a copy of Missundaztood. It is light years away from the ... manufactured pop albums released in the past few years.

- So diverse

While Pink was stuffed under the teen R&B category for her first album Can't take me Home, any negative critic would be crazy or delusional to try to say she is following the same path this time around for M!ssundaztood. She really lets out her true talents for music and she is 10x bolder than she was two years ago. Want a diverse Cd with many different types of songs? Here's a rundown of the styles covered on the 14 tracks:

- We're All Pink On The Inside Indeed

Pink has really hit the nail on the head with this album. After recent events I think people are looking for music that actuyally speaks to them and not music that will be like a sugar pill with limited effects. On Missundaztood Pink gets heavily into writing the songs. She wrote 11 of the 14 songs on the album. The tracks actually mean something and the melodies and musical arrangements are breathtaking. Songs like My Vietnam, Lonely Girl, and Family Portrait really get to you and leave you breathless. She keeps her sense of humour and ads little speaking bits in the beginning of certain songs that will keep you smiling. I bought this CD on the day it first came out and have been listening to it non-stop all day everyday. I especially love her new rock driven song. But don't get her wrong she's not about to become all indie, there's still some R&B on this album. It's a perfect fusion that everyone will enjoy. And what someone else on here said is true, you can't put this album in one genre. It's definatly the best album I've heard from any of those artists that came out during the Britney era. While Britney is whining and pretending to be deep, Pink is not pretending to be deep, she's just honest.
