- Nice McCartney Single
"The World Tonight" single off of McCartney's Beatle influenced Flaming Pie, easily his best album in ages, is a very nice & catchy tune, which of course is very Beatlesque, coming off of the Beatles Anthology work! This track also features Beatles' follower Jeff Lynne (ELO) on guitars/backing vocals/keyboard.
This single also contains a non-album track "Looking For You" featuring again Jeff Lynne on electric guitars/backing vocals and Ringo Starr on drums. There is a reason this jam track was left off the album, not that it's horrible or unlistenable, just far from a McCartney hit.
The rest of the tracks are comprised of 2 songs "I Love This House", "Oobu Joobu" & McCartney talking about a Flaming Pie track, "Young Boy". The synth Genesis-like "I Love This House" is actually a bit better than "Looking For You". While I have no idea what "Oobu Joobu" is all about, except that it's a very sticky short theme which is apparently added onto his singles [from Flaming Pie].
Overall, it's a nice CD Single, which i purchased for a nickel here!! You may probably still find it at a very cheap price under the "used" section here on amazon.com and besides this would be a very cool item for McCartney collectors!

- Not a chart-buster, but a keeper nonetheless
With Ringo Starr and Jeff Lynne on hand, and a melodic number to work on, Sir Paul McCartney has delivered a most entertaining CD single.
Supporting tracks are also creative, in the "Beatles" frame of reference.
This was a fine follow-up to the "new" Beatles' singles of 1995-1996, Jeff Lynne in the booth.
Yes, there's some of the Beatles here, some of Wings...alot of Sir Paul.
It's interesting to reflect that the "Run, Devil, Run" CD was right around the corner - we were suddenly back in the Cavern - back to his roots. But in the same musical "world".
