Paul McCartney Album: “From a Lover to a Friend [CD5]”

This American single was quickly pulled from the shelves once it was decided to march forward with the "Freedom" single instead after 9/11.

The only thing on here that didn't survive the transition was the #1 remix.

Honestly when From A Lover To A Friend came out I was a little put off by it, but it has grown on me over the years. There is a stark beauty to it.

The remixes aren't anything particularly groudbreaking or add to the nature of the song. In fact, I think they detract from it.

McCartney himself has essentially said the singles selection process for this album (Driving Rain) probably could have been handled differently if given another chance.
