- Michael Jackson & Janet Jackson's - SCREAM/CHILDHOOD

I don't care if this song is almost six years old, well over that now I guess. All I care about is telling you guys that this song is great.

I wouldn't exactly call this a 'classic' Michael Jackson song, but I would go as far to say that this song is one of Michael's most ambitious and lyrically satisfying pieces of music ever. Here is a Michael Jackson that we know nothing about. The angry, PO'd Michael, who went through a very turbulant time in his life, and lashed out in the only way he knew how. Through his music.

The result was the duet with sister, Janet Jackson, which is a killer song. It's got everything; great beat, great hook, great chorus and nasty lyrics. The snarwl in both their voices shows disdain for the media, something I greatly enjoy...:)

Janet Jackson is a great vocalist and an amazing songwriter, and this song has even more meaning comming from the both of them.

The remixes are solid, with all four remixes blowing me away. Michael's remixes are all solid, for any song, and this is no exception. I love the 'Dave 'Jam' Hall Extended Urban Remix' which takes the song on a great beat and reaches an awesome climax.

The 'Classic Club Mix', remixed by David Morales, is awesome, and worthy of current club play. It's such a shame that you rarely (if not EVER) hear this song in the clubs, but that can be contributed to the songs underlying theme of, well, hate...more like 'dislike strongly.'

The beautiful 'Childhood' is included on this remix CD, focusing all Michael's energy on his powerful, and beautiful voice. The song is wonderful, and has a great message, if any of us really took the time to listen to it.

This songs takes me back to a great time, and hopefully for you it does as well.

- Mike's STILL the man!!

I'm a Michael Jackson fan and have been for as long as I remember (I'm 43 BTW). I purchased this because I couldn't find my cassingle (that's cassette single for you young folk). The CD single doesn't carry the longer remix version w/ Treach on it like the cassette single does. No matter-I bought it anyway and later found my cassingle so I won on both fronts. It still is so hard to believe that he's actually gone. I still cry when I think of him sometimes as he was just an enormous talent. He'll live forever as he is and always will be the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time)!!! RIP Michael-we all love you!!

- Smoove!!!!

This is definitely one of Micheal's best! When I listen to this song, especially the Naughty Radio Edit, I hear shades of his past works and greatness from the "Off The Wall" blockbuster. I can also hear Janet's influence in it as well. Remember the "D&D 12" Remix" of "If" that Janet released as part of that song's remix CD? You can hear it in the chorus, and the whole song has that same groove to it.

There's something for everybody here, so if you haven't copped this disc after all these years, you owe it to yourself if you're a Michael and/or Janet fan! You just can't go wrong here!

Don't sleep on "Childhood," either. It's a plea beautifully presented and wonderfully simple. Childlike.

- Duet with Janet

When Janet sings, "Peek in the shadow/ Come into the light/ You tell me I'm wrong/ Then prove you're right," we feel the pain that black people have engaged with since the beginning of history. SCREAM is a condemnation not only of racism and historical wrongs, but also of black complicity in their own inner betrayal, thus the contemptuous references to "selling out," as though both Michael and Janet, in their different ways, feel ambiguous about their success in white and pop record charts.

In the remixes Janet is toned down way low and most of the vocals are Michael's, which is hardly fair. Though the music and lyrics are 100% Michael's, Janet was certainly an integral part of the production (and the video, too, where she looks out of this world).

- Mike's the best

This is the best. Why? Because it is from the King Of Pop! (no no no, michael is the best, not janet)
