- Pay the extra dough for the added bonus track

there's no doubt that reissuing yet ANOTHER special edition of Thriller could have been more complete. And the fact the the bonus track Got The Hots is ONLY on the Japanese edition is ridiculous. If the record company wants to really make this a start at a 'comeback' for Michael, then they should start by giving fans what they want. What DO we want? How about this. Include the DVD, but also make this a TWO disc set. Include all the bonus tracks from this edition PLUS the bonus tracks from the previous special edition of Thriller (which are DIFFERENT bonus tracks than these) and FINALLY put the long versions of Billie Jean and Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' ON the Thriller album, as Michael originally intended them to be, but was forced to shorten them due to the lack of room on a vinyl LP back in 1982.

Anyway, skipping over all the modern remakes--which are mostly the vocals of the new artists, so they aren't so much Michael's songs anymore--the track "For All Time" is a ballad that sounds very much like Human Nature, which would explain why they both weren't included on the original LP. The reason to buy the Japanese edition is because Got the Hots is the better track. It's a standard Michael/Quincey upbeat R&B groove from the early 80s, but it is much better than For All Time. It isn't, however, in my opinion, up to the standards of the Thriller that it was rejected from years ago. Maybe that's just because of the passage of time and it sounding sort of dated, while the Thriller songs still sound fresh and familiar.
