Análisis (en inglés) - Yahoo! Music - Rob O'Connor :
Many, many years ago a man told the Beatles’ manager that groups with guitars were on their way out. The man was a little early in his pronouncement. But could this man have guessed that it would be bands with PIANOS that would be on their way in. Now, Matt Pond PA do not abandon their six-string friends. But much like Ben Folds and countless emo bands who have been emerging over the past few years, Matt Pond PA write their songs with an earnest, bouncy impatience that immediately conjures up the image of a peppy piano-pounder in our midst. In fact, album credits reveal TWO piano players. The addition of strings and other pretty-fiers and you have an album suggesting influences as deep as Brian Wilson, Cardinal, Yum Yum, Nick Drake and about two dozen other orchestrated folk who most likely even the band members have never listened to. Then you hear a song like “It Is Safe” and none of the influences matter because the band has come into its own. And you can safely say, with history on your side, bands with pianos are on their way in. So get out of the doorways, don’t block up the halls, oldster!
