Maroon 5 Capturing their first of three Grammy Awards as ‘Best New Artist of 2005’ and then going on to sell more than 17 million albums worldwide, the American pop and rock band Maroon 5’s releases have gone gold and platinum in over 35 countries. Originally starting out in 1994 as an alternative rock/power pop band called Kara’s Flowers, the group took in guitarist Jimmy Valentine and changed their name to Maroon 5 as they moved on to more R&B and smooth pop influences.
