Disco de Mariah Carey: “Emancipation Of Mimi”
Descripción (en inglés) :
U.K. edition adds an extra song.

CD contains 1 bonus track.

With the lofty title THE EMANCIPATION OF MIMI, it's clear that Mariah Carey wants listeners to know she's releasing an important record. Here she aims to reveal an aspect of herself that has previously been held back by career missteps and tabloid-worthy drama. It's refreshing, then, that 2005's EMANCIPATION returns the focus to Carey's remarkable voice, as the singer makes her most accomplished record in over a decade.

Carey opens the album by exhibiting some of the most sincerely soulful vocals of her career on the one-two punch of the up-tempo "It's Like That" and the beautiful ballad "We Belong Together." Her able voice expertly complements both the hazy hip-hop of Snoop Dogg on "Say Somethin'" and the acrobatics of Twista on the dream-like "One and Only." In her early years, Carey would have adorned the latter track with vocal tricks to show off her five-octave voice, but she has wisely learned to rein in her frills. In fact, restraint is the key word on THE EMANCIPATION OF MIMI, a straightforward and satisfying pop-R&B collection.

- The Return Of "The Voice"
"Mimi's Emancipation/A Cause for Celebration!!" This has to be MC's best album in a long time. This disc is a top notch collection of R&B/Pop that will definitley put Mariah back on top of the charts. Her voice is back in top form along with A-List producers such as Kanye, Pharrell and of course JD. Some of the highlights include;
"We Belong Together" which produced by JD, takes you back to what we all love her for - those heartfelt ballads. Definitely watch out for this single. It's gonna explode!!
"Stay The Night" is a true vocal performance track. Mariah really belts it out towards the end of the Kanye produced number.
"Get Your Number" features Mariah's trademark R&B crooning. With JD killin' the chorus, this track will definitely heat up the clubs.
"Circles" which feature all live musicians gives you an old-skool 70's soul diva vibe. Has all the glass-shattering vocals without being over-produced.
The end result is definitely a much more confident Mariah. You've been waiting a while for a disc like this - Your wait is over. Get "Emancipated" April 12th!!

- Eeeh could be better.
It is not good considering the fact that it is Mariah Carey;'s CD. People went crazy over this CED. It sounds like any other artists' album nowadays. I just had really high expectation.
- For the grown and sexy
I've read alot of reviews from the magazines on this albumn and I am reminded why I don't pick my music according to others opinions because to me this albumn is the best from MC. Of course there are some tracks that I am more into than others, but overall I'm feelin the whole albumn. I've heard that she should have switched up her style, but that goes back to she started it, is keeping real and if it aint broke dont fix it. So bottom line, if you are grown, sexy and know what real music is get this albumn.
