Disco de Mariah Carey: “Here Is Mariah Carey”

I am SO ecstatic this has been released on DVD! Not just because I no longer have it on the Beta Max (no seriously, I really did!) video I recorded from BBC1 all those years ago, but because it contains 'Love Takes Time' which the Beeb cut in the televised show. Although not a hardcore favourite of mine, I'd never seen it performed live before and it actually made me like the song that bit extra.

Whilst the extras were ripped to pieces in the press as airheaded fluff and nonsense, I actually enjoyed them still, and as always found it hard to contemplate why a genuinely nice person having fun with her friends is a bad thing?!? Madonna plays sex games and blows a bottle, and that's cool and respect-worthy, but Mariah has a food fight, and reminisces on shared memories with her friends, and that's pathetic fluffy nonsense? I really don't get this world at ALL sometimes...

This DVD is a Mariah Carey concert that was shown on NBC in the early 1990s. In the concert she sings some of her hit songs from that time period: Hero, Without You, Anytime You Need a Friend, Emotions, Vision of Love. There are also behind-the-scenes parts where Mariah is hanging out with her mom, her friends, her band. A couple of her music videos are also included as extras on the DVD.

Mariah has an incredible voice. It was one of the best Mariah's performances of all time. I whish it had some more songs, but that's ok because the performnces are the best I've ever seen in my entire life.

I love this video! She sings lots of her best songs. It also has the Dreamlover video on it. It has lots of interviews with her and her friends.
