LUTRICIA MCNEAL whatcha been doing **

whatcha been doing, american-born, denmark-resident lutricia mcneal's second album, is straightforward euro-pop. filled with beats, lyrics and arrangements that you would expect of any--save, perhaps, melanie c.'s--spice girl solo project. though she does get more soulful on the title track and tackles a dance track on "fly away", you'd do better to go ahead and get those spice girl solo projects or, better yet, any lisa stansfield album. it's quite possible that mcneal is a gifted singer but, on this project at least, she's too mired down in mediocre songwriting and production to make that determination.

- I don't skip a single track....

I hadn't ever heard the name "Lutricia McNeal" before a couple of months ago. Then, my boss came back from Germany with this CD and said we had to listen to it, claiming that every track on the album was great. I was skeptical at first - there's always one or two (or more!) tracks on a CD that you don't really enjoy, or that you even dislike. But my boss was right; I listen to "Whatcha Been Doing" all the time, and I never select specific tracks because they're all good! And the songs never seem to become repetitive or boring, as do so many other pop songs. You know, the ones you hear and love, but after repeated listenings, you're sick of? I have not lost interest in one of the tracks on this CD. I definitely recommend this artist!

Excellent follow up to Lutricia McNeal. Full of superb beaty ballads that seep into your conciousness. If you bought the previous one, get this one - you'll love it.
