- Lulu comes of age

Like everyone who practices a craft or art the more time they spend doing it the better they get. This collection is pretty much the INDEPENDENCE comeback album and the singles that followed, along with various re-mixes. There has never been any doubt that Lulu has one of the best voices in pop music, though her choice of material has missed the mark with an amazing regularity. On this set she has come up with some of her best songs and the strongest of these are the self penned ones, EVERY WOMAN KNOWS and GOODBYE BABY AND AMEN are pop music perfection.I DON'T WANNA FIGHT, here in it's demo version, showed Tina Turner exactly how to record the song, to the extent that the vocal styling is very much the same on both recordings. If you missed the comeback album, and the ABSOLUTELY LULU collection, now is the time to play catch up and buy this set.

- oh me oh my!

Finally found these tracks by this classic singer. Truly a great value (24 tracks! on 2 cds). The tracks put her vocals in front where they belong and the song selection is varied and interesting. The producers are varied which also keeps the cd's sound fresh from song to song. Very nice!
