- Lulu's Decca Years & Rarities

This Lulu compilation is PACKED with rarities from her years with Decca in the UK from 1964-1966. It is indispensable for filling in your Lulu collection, as it includes many rare singles & EP only songs. One of these singles alone would set you back the price of a CD.

What I love about this period is the huge production that they used in the 60's with full orchestration, horns, strings and all. Lulu is out front, belting it out and she was only still in her teens. Amazing voice, talent, songs & production, as only done in the 60's! Essential listening, and if you like Lulu or any of those big-voiced singers of the 60's like Tom Jones, Dusty Springfield or Kiki Dee, you'll love this.

Hear Lulu in all her raw energy , right before she left Decca/London for Columbia/Epic and her starring role in and massive hit with TO SIR WITH LOVE. This is where Lulu's long music career starts.

- Fun

This is a very young Lulu, before "To Sir with Love", so one can feel that she is having more fun with this material (and singing off key a bit in the process.)

The cd shows that Lulu was already a fine singer. Especially since "You'll never leave her" is a classic in my book and should be on any upcoming best of cd. "Chocolate Ice" and "Surprise, Surprise" also are great car songs.
