I discovered Lisa by accident. I was taken with her rendition of Oceano, a John Grobin selection, on one of his CDs. Don't know who got there first. Anyway, Lisa, who sings in Italian has a big, huge belters voice, but with a difference. Her style is in the style of some of the best Black soul singers; it's not a big, brassy, sledge hammer
sound that a lot of pop singers pass as technique and talent. Hers has nuance and subtlety, not found for instance in someone who just makes noise, like Celine Dion. All the tracks are sung in Italian;she doesn't try to overreach in English, which makes for a better listening experience. All the tracks have catchy melodic hooks that make you curious to buy a follow up. Highly recommended.
