- New productions give Lisa a needed kick...
I have always thought that Lisa Stansfield had a fantastic voice and the power to become a massive diva. This album proves that I was right. The remixes of these songs shine in comparison to most of the originals. Hex Hector's remix of "I'm Leavin" (#1 & #7) is fantastic. The Dirty Rotten Scoundrels remix of "People Hold On", originally released in the early 90's with the group Coldcut, takes the bassline from the Armand Van Helden remix of Tori Amos's "Professional Widow" and makes you wanna shake your butt. But by far, the most spectacular remix on here, is Mark Picchiotti's remix of "The Real Thing". He takes this down-tempo groover and turns it into a rousing disco anthem, sure to rip up any party!.

- Amazing! What a way to start the day!
This CD is great. I also have and love "Real Love", however, this is by far her best. Her voice is outstanding and the beats in this music get you pumped and ready to start the day. Lisa Stansfield, in my opinion, easily beats out some of the "divas" i.e. Mariah who does nothing more than use high-pitched squeals in her songs. You won't go wrong purchasing "The #1 Remixes"

- club class all the way
... #1 Remixes is a really good remix album. It may be 5 years and counting, but most of this still sounds very fresh, mainly because the remixers have a readily identifiable sound and are pretty much the cream of the crop. If you love (even just like) Ms Stansfield's voice and dig dance music this album will send you heavenward.
- Lisa Stansfield, "Queen Of Dance Music" gets treated like royalty by the best DJ's in the world!!
Lisa Stansfield is my favorite artist by far. Let's make that perfectly clear from the start. On this, a remix compilation of her fourth, self titled album, Lisa and Hosh Gureli (A&R man at Arista at the time of release; apparently he pushed hard for this album to happen for her club/gay fans and THANK GOD!!) recruit the likes of Frankie Knuckles (who had done her sublime "Change" remix in 1991), Junior Vasquez, Hani, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Victor Calderone, K-Klass, Hex Hector and more!! The result: HOTTTTTTTT versions of everything from Lisa's original smash hit "People Hold On" to new classics like "Never Gonna Fall" and "I'm Leavin'".. Needless to say, four of these remixes reached #1 on the Billboard Dance chart, making Lisa Stansfield one of the most successful dance artists of all time (when you add this tally to her previous #1 hits like "All Around The World", "This Is The Right Time" and the aforementioned "Change". Note to fans: the U.K. release of this cd has different cover art and also contains one added remix of "The Real Thing" (a must have clocking in at more than eleven minutes) by Mark Pichiotti. Pick it up now and savor her amazing voice, tight beats and deep grooves! Long live Lisa Stansfield, "Queen Of Dance Music"!!
