Lionel Richie as far as I'm concearned Is one of the four most Important Living Musicians. the Others being R.Kelly, Michael Jackson&Stevie Wonder. Lionel Richie truly understood the meaning of words&Music. His Work is timeless. He covered so many styles. He is a Timeless Songwriter&overall Music Pressence. His Work with the Commodres&then Solo is incredible. for my Money Lionel Richie has more talent in his pinky finger than the Beatles all put together. His writing speaks of so many daily subjects&themes. from the Commodores days of "Just to be Close to you" through the Solo era of "Hello" He captured the essence of expression what so few Writers are ever able to do. vocally he left a honest expression in his presentation. he has written some of the Greatest bridges ever in Popular music. He has always remained honest in his work. a True Musical Genius who has Composed songs that will go on&on for hundreds of Years to come. He is a Poet's Poet.
This set had all of the songs that I wanted, and some that I didn't even realize were Lionel (I'm younger than quite a few of the songs :D). With 2 cds and and a dvd, this is the best collection that I've found. It's well worth the price to avoid buying several cds to get the same list of songs. You know the songs you want to hear, so I won't even go into that, but the way that this set is done is great.
I would definitely recommend this version (over the domestic Collection).
