Disco de Lights: “Lights”

I had never heard of Lights until Fall 2008 when I attended a Copeland concert. She was the first act of the evening, and as people have described her style of music - funky, bubblegum, inspiring - so she was on stage. Her presence was stellar and she quickly became an addition to my music collection. In just 6 songs she relates to you in a profound way while altering your mood in such a cheering, captivating manner.

I love when the artist isn't just talented on a CD but in person as well - and Lights is one of those musicians.

I first heard some of these tunes on Old Navy commercials. I could not get them out of my head. The worst part was, at the time, they were not available for purchase. I had to make due with occasional listens on the artists Myspace page. I would love to give some grandiose and meaningful review or insight about these songs but instead I find that their charm and appeal for me is just their ability to lighten my mood, make me smile and make me feel happy. Thanks to Amazon for making these available and best of luck and continued success to the artist.

I first heard of Valerie Poxleitner AKA LIGHTS from an Old Navy commercial. Checked the Old Navy website and viola, I found her. LIGHTS features a refreshing new approach on pop music. I really like all the songs from this EP. She presents a "feel good" style that make it nearly impossible to feel sad after listening to it. LIGHTS is perfect! Well, that's another song by her. LOL.

It took me a good month of trying to find her cd's in my local mall and stores with no luck, before I came on here and found them! And at such a good price! :) I've now got her Lights cd(believe it is her 1st cd) on repeat in my car. Her music is amazing, and different. To me, there is a message behind EVERY song. And no song is the same as another.

I'm an old guy (40 years old) and I found the music from Lights to be very resonating for this old guy. The music made my cry, just from the lyrics and harmoney!
