- Red Hot!

Even before the enormous success of Fever and the super-catchy single "Can't Get You Out of My Head" I've always firmly believed that Kylie Minogue is one of the world's best pop stars. Charisma, charm, and a tons of sexiness are just some of the qualities that she easily sells and constantly works to her advantage. Red Blooded Woman, the second single from her funky 9th studio album, Body Language, only further assures us of that.

Although, it seems like this could be something more suited for R&B acts such as Destiny's Child, Kylie easily proves that she can pull off R&B with little or no effort. Her confident vocals, sexy purrs, and a keen taste for ultra-slick production are certainly evident here, as "RBW" is no doubt, one of the best R&B/Dance singles of 2004 so far!

Part II of this single is even better than the first, and the video has some eye-popping dance action courtesy of Jake Nava, who has directed Beyonce in all those hip-swinging videos she's done recently. Kylie looks incredible in a gray dress on a huge gray steel and velvet set, intercut with a kind of storyline in which she comes to America, gets caught up in LA traffic, and abandons her car to start walking through the traffic pile-up, attracting the attention of every man she passes by, two large dogs, and one lipstick lesbian chauffeur who lets her slip into the back seat of her sedan and steal an outfit from the dry cleaners which had been hanging in the window of the car. This enables Kylie to climb up the grille of a monster truck and start to writhe and posture all over it, as the atmosphere changes from the sunbaked Hollywood afternoon to the cool twilight and star-filled midnight of orgasm.

Go Kylie Minogue! Make us all happy and move here to California. We don't see enough of you as is!

- Hot Blooded Kylie

Despite a lesser reception for the overly underrated Body Language, there's no denying, on closer inspection that the album is one of pop's best for 2003. Red Blooded Woman is one of the songs on the album that follows a hip-hop/urban sound and to much surprise, Kylie works it effectively. In fact, I would say that Kylie does her hip hop more credibly than Jlo and Janet Jackson.

Though not exactly your 8-octave lung-busting singer, Kylie has cleverly used her sensual voice to great effect here. The result is a female verison of Justin Timberlake's Cry Me A River that's not produced by The Neptunes.

The othe suprise on this CD is the Chemical Brothers' remix of Slow which essentially mask the sensuous song in trademark Chem Bro electronic stutter and beats.

I am looking forward to Kylie releasing the ultra-orgasmic Chocolate.

- Careful...

"Red Blooded Woman" is not Kylie's best work. It sounds too much like something Britney would do! "Cruise Control" is a little better, but not much. Now we're stepping into J-Lo territory. The video for "Red Blooded Woman",like the song, is very mediocre. It seems like the director and choreographer couldn't come up with anything. The Chemical Brothers' remix of "Slow" is nicely done. But overall, only Kylie's die-hard fans will find this one enjoyable.
