- Better than some people might lead you to believe
This is a great CD, no matter what the others say.
1. Original Version (3:34, 10/10): Just what it says.
2. Junior's Factory Mix (9:06, 10/10): Nice! Why do I think of an island resort when I hear this?
3. When I Think of You-Extended Morales House Mix '95 (7:41, 11/10): GORGEOUS!!! I adore this spectacular update. Very nice.
4. WITOY-Heller & Farley Project Mix (9.9/10, 10:41): Wow, almost 11 minutes! This is a dark-house take on the song. I don't hate it, but I'm not crazy about it, either.
5. Junior's Unplugged Mix (11/10, 3:30): Lovin' it! Nice, laid-back, guitary take on "Runaway". This is the best "Runaway" remix on here.
A very impressive EP, but why is it out of print already? I was planning on buying it from here, but it went out of print, and now the only place I can find it is Yahoo! Shopping! :(

- Worth It...
I bought this CD-single when it came out in the fall of 1995, because I loved (and still love) "Runaway". Of course the original is the first track. The first remix (track #2), is an explosive house version with lots of build-ups, echoes, and a driving beat.
Track #3 - the Dave Morales remix of "When I Think Of You", is really nice - and way better than the second one which is more low-key, but still good. Then we get a funky, acoustic guitar-laden finale with a final version of "Runaway".
What makes this probably one of Janet's best maxi-singles is that it is very lengthy. It's almost a 1/2 hour by itself, with five songs, three of them being at least 7 minutes long. Worth it, worth it, worth it.
I must mention that I also own a casette maxi-single of "Runaway" which has four different remixes; three with Coolio, and this really great 'Old School R&B Remix' that was done by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. I actually think the 'Old School R&B Remix' is better than the original - think Groove Theory's "Tell Me" to get a comparison. I highly recommend checking out the aforementioned cassette maxi-single as well.
Anyhow, as Janet would say, "Get the point? Good... let's dance!"
This CD is worth the dough...definitely.

- 1995 was a good year!
I love the song Runaway. It brings back good memories. I remember when the video came out when I was 7. She was traveling all over the world with that thing on her nose. I'll never forget how I show that to my mom and she was like OMG! Janet looks so beautiful in the video. She has nice teeth. I love the remixes. I like the Junior Factory remix. When I Think Of You is also my favorite and it also had good memories.

- It's alright
Just as Janet puts it, "I tell you that it's alright with me!" This is a good CD Single, but it's by far not one of Janet's best. Runaway and When I Think Of You are two timeless Janet classics, so you'd think this CD would be excellent. Anyways, here's how I put it down...
First things first, the original song: Runaway. It appeared on Janet's 1995 hit compilation 'Design Of A Decade: 1986-96' which reached an impressive #2 on the UK Charts, which just showcases how brilliant Janet really is. The single itself went straight to #6, spanning 7 weeks on the Top 75 UK Charts. It's a excellent song, like I said before - A timeless classic...
The two remixes of When I Think Of You that appear on here are also excellent, especially the second version of the song. One is a rather clubby beat, dubbed with a piano, it kind of reminds me of Madonna's Human Nature remixes. The second is very funky and clubby again, it is the better out of the two. Despite this, both remixes are great!
The two remixes of Runaway that appear on here are not very good. They are both remixed by Junior Vasquez, my favourite remixers along with Hex Hector or Hex Hector & McQuayle, and also after a great original version I expected the remixes to be even better! I was wrong. They are more laid-back and take away the power from the song. The first remix is to repetitive and the second sounds very dated and extremely laid-back compared to Junior Vasquez's original work. (I'd like to put extremely in big, bold, block capital letters.)
Runaway is a great song, but the remixes just don't quite cut it. However, remixes on here of When I Think Of You are excellent and worth buying for.
- Great Single!
Runaway was (and still is) a refreshing song. The lead single from her greatest hits album Design of a Decade 1986/1996 which has two new songs and 14 hits. The remixes on this single are fab. My favorite is the unplugged mix of Runaway, but the When I Think Of You remixes are great as well. A must have for fans!
