- Two Thumbs Up For Hi-5!
I absolutely love this CD! I am 12 years old and I think the American Hi-5 is amazing...so I finally decided to get a CD with the orginal cast on it! I am so glad I did! I hope that our Hi-5 does all of these songs because they are so great! My favorite songs of the week are "Some Kind Of Wonderful," "Making Music," "Rainbow 'Round the World," "City and Country," "PLANET DISCO (!!!)," and "Come Around to my Place."
Some songlets you have to hear are:
Pirate Teddies - Oh, I just love this!!! I think it rocks!
Danging Blankets - Charli does a great job on this...it's so cute!
What Shall I Be? - I love Kellie's voice! I hope Jenn does this!
Gallant Prince of Knights - I think Nathan really shines on this song...what a range!
Boot Scootin' Forever - It's a very cute and catchy country song!
Rainbow Lorikeet - Kellie also sounds good on ballads...she's very good!
Luckiest Girl - I love this one!!! I can't get it out of my head!
Special Place - This is my favorite by far! Kathleen is amazing!!!! She has such a pure and pretty voice!! Kathleen is definetly my favorite in the Australian Hi-5!!!!
There are only two downers with this CD. I wish that they told what weeks the songlets were from and since Jenn is my favorite in the American Hi-5, I'd rather hear her (not that I don't like Kellie)!!!! Overall, this CD is very good...I love it and it will forever be one of my favorites!!!!!

- Some of the BEST songs yet!
As a HUGE fan of the American Hi-5 group, I have finally bought my first Aussie CD, and it is GREAT! First off, I have to mention that this CD gives me huge pangs of jealousy because the American cast has only done 4 of these Songs of the Week and really should have done them all. Every one is original, but with that signature Hi-5 upbeat style, and great lyrics! I love "Ch-ch-changing" and "Planet Disco," but of course my favorite is "Action Hero" -- the only problem there being that I'd rather hear Curtis than Nathan, but hopefully the American cast will come out with another CD, too. "Welcome" is a great little song, especially for teaching some basic ASL to children, and I love the "Big Bee Hop" and "Disco Blanket," all of which I use for teaching pre-schoolers. I love having the poster (as I wouldn't know who's who without it!) and my only complaint is that the main singer of the songlets is not identified in the credits -- they don't ever do this, which is too bad because the grown ups don't know even if the kids do! The main point is that Chris Harriot keeps on writing wonderful well worth listening to children's music, the writers have some great lyrics, and Hi-5 (whether Aussie or American!) sure do know how to perform!

- Appropriate pop for the kids.
Good, clean fun but with lots of edge, energy & style. That's Hi-5.
It's amazing how they keep coming up with fresh new, original material. It's already their 7th series and I'm still enjoying their music fervently.
First 9 tracks are the song-of-the-week(s) and are especially catchy. Comes with karaoke tracks too! What a treat!
As for the selected segment songs, here are my favourites:
16 - Looking For A Friend - Chat's first solo piece featuring Jup-jup. Something you've got to hear.
14 - Wonderful Day - a sweet lullaby by Charli.
17 - Shooting Stars - Everyone loves Kathleen. She often does the slower lullaby-like songs in the show & she does them very effectively. This is a pretty one. A Special Place(track 25) is pretty too.
24 - Luckiest Girl - Charli's the luckiest girl because she gets to test all the toys in the department song. What a cute song!
The songs cover a whole range of themes. There's something for everybody.
- Awesome kids CD (fun for adults too)
My kids (4 and 2) and I all love this CD! Trust me, we've been listening to it straight for over a month and we all still sing along. Of course, you can't get the songs out of your head when you aren't listening to the CD...
