- Go Ahead 'Bag It Up'
Bag It Up is the best single off Schizophonic. No doubt about it. The energy, the lyrics and the style are so energetic I get goosebumps just thinking about it.
Track 1. 'Bag it Up'-same as album version...Same great taste
Track 2. 'These boots were made for walking' Ok, The song is good but could use some more pep in the beginning I have never heard a guitar that sounded like it was dying before.
Track 3. 'Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps' If you liked 'a goodnight kiss' you'll like her remake of this song. Truthfully, 'a goodnight kiss' could have been Geri's reaction to this song. Its about being strung along.
Now the video is Outstanding, hilarious and will have you jumping out of you chair.[...]
The CD was worth it for 'bag it up' and the video alone. The 2 b-sides are not really directed to Geri's younger fans.

- Halliwell Halliwell Halliwell
Not many people I meet are impressed with my revelation that I love Geri Halliwell. My partner was mildly surprised and amused that I'd spend my money on 'Schizophonic', but I maintain that its one of the best CDs to come out in all of the last two years. This CD, a Maxi-single kind, is extremely hard to find anymore, and I don't own it now. I regret the fact that I let it go over six months ago. Not only does it have that fantabulous track 'Bag it Up', it also has Geri's campy take on 'These boots were made for walkin', and the undeniably infectious 'Perhaps'. I must also say that I've never really liked the Spice Girls very much, but have always been consistently satisfied by Geri's solo work. SO much better than what Mel C and Mel B are putting out.
Highly recommended.
- Schizophonic: These Boots Are Made For Walking / Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps
I personally do not like the song Bag It Up whatsoever. It stinks. I only purchased this Import for "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps" and "These Boots Are Made For Walking". Geri did a marvelous job on both songs. "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps" was composed by Cuban songwriter Osvaldo Farres who wrote the original Spanish lyrics of the song which is originally titled "Quizás, Quizás, Quizás". Joe Davis later came along and wrote an english version that wasn't in translation of the spanish lyrics (I love this song). Many, many fabulous artists have recorded it, from Nat King Cole (1958), Doris Day (1964), and Celia Cruz (1965), to Samantha Fox (1998) and even fellow spice girl Emma Bunton (2006)and The Pussycat Dolls (2008) just to name a few. This song is a classic, If you haven't heard it, It sounds like a Tango with a slightly haunting melody. I haven't seen it but I'm 100% sure they used this song on 'So You Think You Can Dance' (I hate that show).
Now, 'These Boots Are Made For Walking' was originally performed by nancy Sinatra in 1966, it shot straight #1 (If Ya' Didn't Know), And just like "Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps" many artists have recorded their versions of this song, Artists I bet you didn't even know that did, Like The Supremes in 1966, they did a slightly more soulful version, Loretta Lynn the following year did a country version, La Toya Jackson in 1994, and Lil Kim did her own minute and half rendition for the Theme of Growing Up Gotti in 2005. So As you can see both of these songs are classics and everybody wishes to do a version. Even Geri, In my own opinion Geri's versions of these songs are in my top 3 on both songs.
Lst but not least, I never understood why Geri hasn't done other songs like "My Heart Belongs To Daddy" by Julie London or Peggy Lee's version of "Fever" or "Let Me Entertain You" in the style of Ann Margret, I'm sure she's done "Fever" live, But I mean actually record the song as a B-side for another single. Or better yet why hasn't she done a songbook of classics, She loves Jazz, showtunes and 60's pop, So it's beyond me why she has not dedicated some studio time to a full length album of these types of songs. In every concert that she's done she always sticks renditions of classics and showtunes in her shows she loves that stuff, I do too! She needs to sit down with Christina Applegate and have her call her people and get this show on the road!
