Gavin DeGraw Album: “In Love With A Girl”

After hearing his new single off of his Myspace page and then seeing him live in concert, I can honestly say that Gavin DeGraw's new single is amazing. Some may say it sounds generic but any true Gavin fan knows that the song is definitely his style. Listen to it and you'll know what I mean.

When I first heard a snippet of the song on the radio I was so psyched. I downloaded and was not disappointed. As usual Gavin is so melodic and the chorus is so catchy.I find myself wanting to listen to it over and over again. Can't wait to listen to the whole album!

As a prelude to his upcoming self titled CD,Gavin DeGraw hits a home run with his new single"In Love With A Girl."

This song is so hook laden,riff laden,full of positive energy,great vocals,great chord changes that after hearing it one time on the radio I had to download it to have in my iTunes collection.

I`ve always thought the Mr. DeGraw had what it took to break through in a big way-In fact being in the music biz as I have for longer than most readers have been alive,I thought that his writing,playing and ability might just be too good for the times we are in.After all,pop music has taken a back seat to groove oriented less melodic music.

This record has re-affirmed my belief that G.D.has the goods to follow through on his 2nd major release.

If like me you are a sucker for soulful,R&B pop-rock with all the ingredients to make you feel great,Gavin DeGraw has come through once again.I hope the rest of the CD is as good as this....

This single will catch some (new) ears. Some may even say that "Gavin sounds better; less boring."

That's what they wanted (the record label, maybe even Gavin).

I must be honest, this song was nice from the first time I heard it but it didn't hit me like it does now.

If it means anything, nearly the whole Chariot CD had to grow on me over time and I totally fell head over heels (for it).

This song may sound a bit "overproduced" like the other reviewer pointed out, but mainly it sounds like he's trying to fit in more.

That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I hope the album isn't something like a rocker-wannabe. Those can be the worst!!

But it's solid. Very solid now.

But that's cause I gave it a chance.

My favorite line in the song is probably:

"Took my sweet time when I was bitter."

4.5 stars.

End Note: I love how he mentions making love, without beating around the bush. He's 31 now and maybe should have started out like that, lyrically. He never had to go the high-school lyric route, but then again, I'm glad he did because it's what helped make his debut such a perfect smash!

It took me a bit less than an hour or so for this song to totally grow on me.

I just hope that this sophomore effort is solid and doesn't sound like some other artist.

Try new things Gavin, but don't change the heart and soul of YOU.
