Everything but the Girl Album: “Walking Wounded [Single]”

The title single from Everything But the Girl's album WALKING WOUNDED carries its interior pain along skittering drum `n' bass beats, supplied here by Spring Heel Jack, in three slightly different (but equally moody) forms. The "Hard Vocal Mix" isn't particularly hard, compared to the original, but the Dub Mix gets moving right away, and rather than relying on the string intro, weaves them throughout the track. Omni Trio go for a quietly smooth mix, perhaps as meditative as d'n'b gets, and Dave Wallace from Aquasky goes for warm and atmospheric. Wounded, yes, but still pulsing with life.
