- Erasure's finest single

You will never tire of the emotions that Andy Bell is able to express in this single. Absolutely beautiful! Erasure's best work yet, closely followed by Fingers and Thumbs.

- A must have or any Erasure fan

This CD includes the radio release track that first hit the air in 1989, so no surprise there. The Der Deutche mixes on tracks 2 and 3 are passable, but nothing to get excited about. Track number four, Runaround on the Underground, is a MASTERPIECE. The bass is hard driving, the background music is somewhat trance in its manner, and all in all the track makes buying this single worth having. The Mark Saunders remix of Blue Savannah is the best rendition to date. The Supernature track has lyrics fit for a Halloween movie soundtrack, but the music is exceptional. No GDM is a bit off the wall, even for Erasure, but a quality track altogether. If tracks 2 & 3 were omitted I'd rate this 9.99 on a 10 scale.

- Lots of Fodder

This song, from '89s "Wild" album, is a pretty good song in my opinion but not nearly as good as two other singles from the same album, "Drama" and "Star". Vocalist Andy Bell, however, has long said that this is his favorite song they've recorded to date. This CD includes the single version of "Blue Savannah" as well as 3 remixes. None of the remixes come close to the original, not keeping with the feeling of the song. The single also features no less than 3 B-sides. Unfortunately only one of them is really that good, Supernature, a cover of a song about genetic alteration. The other two include a far-to-long mix of "Runaround On The Underground", and another cover of a terrible song called "No G.D.M." I've heard shorter and better mixes on MP3s of both "Supernature" and "RotU" and I have no idea where to find them or why they're not on this CD.

This gets 4 stars (maybe 3 1/2) for the single mix of "Blue Savannah" and the B-Side "Supernature", but other singles from the "Wild!" album (Star and Drama) are much better songs sporting far better B-Sides. This one's for the completist only.
