- Enrique du Fantastique!

This CD caught be completely off guard when i first listened to it. "ENRIQUE" is the self titled album from this young dynamic latino sensation. This is his forth and perhaps his most impressive release to date. Leaving the good looks and charisma aside, this album is evidence that this exciting young performer is more than just a pretty face. In fact, this guy is major talent!

In this album, Enrique demonstrates his maturity and versatlity well beyond his youth. This album has a quality that very few albums have, that is originality and the courage to experiment with different musical styles. He doesn't just adhere to his latin roots, but ventures into pop, rock and ballads with a new found confidence and inspiration under his belt. His mezmerizing vocals are an extension of his soul and what he's feeling deep down inside. This wonderful and emotional voice quivers like the wings of a moth in the fire and trembles like a falling leaf in the wind. This passion and exuberance flow right through the album from start to finish with honesty and an unpretetious quality that is un-matched by any other artist today.

'Rhythm Divine' is just that - Divine Rhythm that captures your soul and takes your cares away. The frank and sexy lyrics in 'Oyeme' and 'Alabao' will take your breath away and leave you wanting more. More is what you get, with tracks like 'Be with you' and 'Bailamos' which are just fantastic with an up-beat tempo best described as pop with a spanish/latin sound. A surprizing departure from his usual is the cover of Bruce Springteen's 'Sad Eyes', which he does so brilliantly(almost passes for Chris Isaak). Other winners in this bunch include the pop ballads 'I'm your man' and 'You're my No. #1'.

"Enrique" the album is also laced with some of musics' hottest stars. Included in the guestlist are Diane Warren, David Foster, Whitney Houston and Patrick Leonard. However, even the best producers and composers can only do so much, and in this case, the major success of this stunning album lies in the hands of the singer and writer, whose talant, passion and relentless drive for perfection has only produced one of the best releases of the year.

Like all other albums from Enrique, this one's unpretentious and comes straight from the heart.

5 Stars for a class act!

- Why is it SO LOW on the Billboard Albums Charts

Well, No. 39 might not be considered low for some, but this CD should have been #1 since the day it came out. I LOVE THIS CD! Enrique proves his is EVERYTHING that Ricky Martin will never be. Enrique can actually sing, for heaven's sakes. (maybe the family blood has something to do with his great pipes) Included Bailamos was a good thing, but that song hasn't even scratched the surface of Enrique's talent. Rhythm Divine is AN AWESOME song, and it sounds just as cool (if not cooler) in Spanish, thoguh i can't understand it! I love Oyeme, I'm Your Man, Sad Eyes and I have always loved you. All are wonderful songs, with a latin beat to it. But, My ABSOLUTE favorite on this disc has got to be Could I have this Kiss Forever. I ABSOULTELY adore Whitney Houston, which I said on my member page, so having her sing a great song with one of my other fav singers, Enrique, is a great musical treat. GET THIS CD! THIS IS BETTER THAN RICKY MARTIN AND JENNIFER LOPEZ COMBINED!

- I Ususally DON'T LIKE THIS TYPE OF MUSIC but...

I was quite pleasantly surprise by the depth and sophistication of EI's CD. I am ususally into modern rock but this CD is what I feel a pop CD should sound like mature sincerity, without any juvenile, bubblegum bounciness. The first 2 songs are definitely radio mainstays and the Springsteen cover is an excellent modern interpretation of a classic. Overall, an excellent pop album top to bottom with bountiful substance and shows superiority to the other Latin phenomenon by the initials RM.

- Didn't think I'd like it as much as I do!

I wanted this CD for a long time, but just never bought it. But I guess after hearing "Be With You" on the radio so much and having some extra money in my pocket I decided to pick it up. And I'm not dissapointed...in fact I would rate this as one of the best cd's of the past year and totally underrated. On some songs "Oyeme" and "Alaboa" he's trying to ride that Ricky Martin "Shake Your Bon Bon" type wave...and it doesn't work...it's just annoying. But Enrique is a really talented artist. "Rhythm Divine" "Be With You" "Bailamos" are really catchy pop songs, but are really well written and are more intelligent I think. I really like "Sad Eyes" which is a remake of A Bruce Springsteen song I've never heard. I think this is a great song. I like the way he sings because of his accent on certain words. I think this should be his next single...equiped with club mixes of course. "Could I Have this kiss Forever" with Whitney Houston is really good. But Whitney sort of overpowers the song, but it's ok (that's why it says Whitney Houston and Enrique Iglesias I suppose). All in all this is a real adult, smart, catchy album. He's really underrated. Oh and by the way the Thunderpuss club mix of "Be With You" is pure bliss. If you can find that than buy it at any cost.
