- Beautiful songs expressing different forms of love

This album is great. I think the choice of songs for an album titled "Love Songs" is perfect, because everyone knows that not all love is romantic love. There's brotherly love, which is reflected in the song "Daniel". Fatherly love for his unborn child, as expressed in "Blessed", and the love or infatuation that someone can feel for a movie star, like Marilyn in "Candle in the Wind", and also love for the Earth and mankind as shown in "Circle of Life". And no one is better at singing such songs, as Elton, or at writing such lyrics as Bernie. And to top it all off, this album includes two new songs, "You can make history (young again)", and "No Valentines". A must for all true EJ fans.

- great collection

This is a great compilation of Elton John essential love songs, but it is missing a few of the good ones from the 80s. I had the fortune of listening to the European import version before I heard this one. The US release is missing "Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues," and this is regretful. This CD is also missing "Nikita."

I love this CD, but it could have been perfect with the inclusion of those two. However, I'm glad I have it, and I love to listen to it! If you like Elton, you're not going to be disappointed!

- Elton John Love Songs

Elton has a way of bringing his music to life by his awesome lyrics. It stirs up emotions in me that are so strong that I find myself getting teary-eyed listening to them.

- A Perfect Album

First, I'd like to say that I became an Elton's fan only at the 90's. Since then, I've listened to all his CDs, but this one for me it's special. You can find some of his classics like "Sacrifice", "The One" and the most beautiful song on the album "Your Song". So if you didn't buy this CD yet, I'm sure that you're not going to be sorry getting it. I'm still looking for another singer that overcomes Elton John. There's no word that can translate this album. What can I say? Outstanding!

- EJ's Greatest Hits packages are better

This compilation is worth buying only for the excellent "You Can Make History Young Again," a wistful and nostalgic look at lost youth. Bernie's lyrics can still mesmerize you. Most serious EJ fans will have the rest of these songs on the original albums or CD's, so this package is good only for the casual Elton fan, or someone dabbling in his music. If you are initially discovering Elton's music, the much wiser buy are his Greatest Hits packages (volume 1-3) and some of his classic early albums, especially "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" and "Don't Shoot Me, I'm Only the Piano Player." Elton and Bernie are timeless, as is their music. There are just more complete compilations than this entry.
