Duran Duran Album: “Greatest [PA]”

Duran Duran Album: “Greatest [PA]”
Description :
Personnel includes: Duran Duran; Jonathan Elias (samples).
Producers include: Duran Duran, Nile Rodgers, Bernard Edwards, Chris Kimsey, Daniel Abraham.
Compilation producer: Nigel Reeve.
This release includes a bonus DVD.
Duran Duran: Simon LeBon (vocals); Warren Cuccurullo (guitar); Nick Rhodes (keyboards); John Taylor (bass guitar); Roger Taylor (drums).
Recording information: 1981 - 1997.
Though '80s nostalgia was an inevitability, the truth is that some of the most influential voices of that era never went away. The members of Duran Duran had their mortgages paid off long before GREATEST was conceived, so their sincerity in releasing a best of album is not to be doubted. One listen is enough to convince the most forgetful fan that every once in a while, the musical taste of teenage girls is right on the mark.
GREATEST follows the teen heartthrobs from their inspiring early days (the quintessential new wave anthem "Planet Earth," the stylish, more-than-suggestive "Girls On Film") straight through to their later work ("Electric Barbarella," a whirring, modern dance cut). In between, the classic "Hungry Like The Wolf" and the mournful "Save A Prayer" give evidence of the band's mastery of the pop form, while the Bond theme "View To A Kill" and "Notorious" trace their development during the decade with which they are inextricably linked.

- Together Is Better!

Yes! CD and DVD together makes this package worth of buying, if you don't have those. Duran Duran was one of the biggest pop groups of the 80s and they succeeded well also in the 90s with two songs.

Greatest cd-collection is full of sunny, catchy, playful, moody and great pop songs. Duran Duran has really made landmark tracks that reminds people the music of the 80s! Rio, Wild Boys and The Rexlex are classics that still sounds fresh after all this years. Duran Duran was Hungry Like A Wolf and was asking for its audience Is There Something I Should Know. The Most of this collection songs has chosen for time period from 1981 to 1985 These years were Duran Duran's golden years! They made their most succesful albums and most selling singles. These are the songs for that period: Planet Earth, Girls On Film( taken for Duran Duran[first], Hungry Like A Wolf, Rio and Save A Prayer(taken for Rio), A New Moon On Monday, Union Of The Snake and The Rexlex (taken for Seven And The Ragged Tiger), Is There Something I Should Know(single), Wild Boys(single) and A View To A Kill(taken for A View To A Kill[James Bond-film] soundtrack) 11 songs represents those golden years!

When Duran Duran lost some members, they wanted to change their music style. Notorious and All She Wants Is are good(or bad) exemplems for that. Personally, I don't like their musical styly from 1986 to 1993. But I know that there are many people who likes. Luckily, human beings like so many different music styles. Imagine world full of people who likes only jazz or country music.

Duran Duran made a great comeback on the 1993 when they realesed The Wedding Album[Duran Duran]. Ordinary World was an excelent song and Duran Duran played more relaxing way than ever.

"Allthough I believe that music can stand more repetion than video and music together(Peter Gabriel)." Duran Duran music can easily listen without picture and it's good thing. On the otherhand, they have made many wonderful music videos that gives you positive, funny and scary feelings. Rio video helped me dreaming about warm summer and beach. Especially, when I live in Finland where summer is short and winter is long. Wild Boys video have some scary creatures and some people can see nightmares after seen it. A View To A Kill is a fun and interesting film in which you can see moving cameres, shots from Bond movie and Eiffel tower. Why there is only 12 videos? I wonder why they have dropped out for exemple All She Wants Is and Come Undone that you find Duran Duran's Greatest video collection.

Finally, this deluxe edition is a good choice for you who don't have any Duran Duran's albums or DVD's. You will get their greatest songs and most of their terrific videos.

- THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS [CD&DVD]!!!!!!!!!!!

ANOTHER TRIP BACK INTO THE DECADE OF THE 80'S.AND THIS IS THE PERFECT EXAMPLE.

DURAN DURAN RULED THE RADIO AND RULED THE WORLD OF VIDEO'S IN THE 80'S.THEY WILL ALWAYS BE KNOWN FOR BEING THE FIRST.TO HOP ON THE TRAIN OF MUSIC TELEVISION AND HAVE HITS BACK TO BACK.

DURAN DURAN [TO ALL YOU GUYS OUT THERE] IS THE ONLY BAND I KNOW THAT HAS A {FULLY NAKED GIRL} ON THE GIRLS ON FILM VIDEO!HECK YOU SHOULD BUY IT JUST FOR THAT! NO?.

THEY WERE A HIT MAKEING MACHINE IN THE 80'S.THEY HAD THE KIND OF MUSIC THAT EVERYONE COULD ENJOY. (KIND OF THE WAY SHERYL CROW IS TODAY).AND THEY GAVE 100% INTO MAKEING GREAT VIDEO'S TO ALREADY GREAT SONG'S.

YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT THIS CD PACKAGE AS A PIEACE OF HISTORY.NOT SAY THIS STUFF IS OUT DATED AND FORGET ABOUT IT.BECAUSE EVERY WHO GREW UP IN THE 80'S WAS A FAN {ADMIT IT}.AND IT IS NICE TO GO BACK IN TIME AND LISTEN TO MUSIC YOU HAVE GREAT MEMOREY'S TO.

AND WITH THIS PACKAGE YOU CAN WATCH THE VIDEO'S THAT STARTED IT ALL!

THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER 80'S:SO PICK THIS UP AND ADD IT TO THE CD COLLECTION WITH THE 90'S AND THE 2000'S.AND YOU WILL NOTICE AS THE YEARS GO BY THAT GROUPS LIKE DURAN DURAN.WILL FADE IN POPULARITY BUT WILL ALWAYS STAY FRESH IN YOUR BRAIN.

IT'S BEEN OVER 20 YEARS AND YOU STILL REMEMBER THE SONG'S AND THE VIDEO'S.THAT'S HOW YOU KNOW A GROUP IS GREAT.THEY GROW OLD WITH YOU!

- Greatest Hits Indeed

This is a very good Greatest Hits collection, all of the songs you would expect to see are here. Make sure you get the bonus (or deluxe edition). The DVD with their videos is great nostalgia for those of us who were there for this MTV favorite and for those of you too young, well they don't make videos like this anymore. Buy it and enjoy it.

- There's a REASON why they call this "Greatest"

England's Fab five have rounded up all their hits (with a bonus DVD!) on this spectacular greatest hits album. What's not to like? They're the greatest group of the 80's, 90's, and 00's!!
