- It's a Ripoff - - Stay away from this CD!

This collection is a very low budget attempt to make money from Donna's fame and success. It is a very poorly produced excuse for a CD. I bought mine under the title "Nice To See You" in a clearance bin for a few dollars and still feel ripped off. All joking aside, please PLEASE do not waste your money on this. Purchase one of Donna's real albums instead!!

- Buyer Beware!

Save Your Money. Donna Summer is NOT featured on any of these tracks!

This is a bad attempt to cash in on the legendary Donna Summer.

When looking for her music please google "search" for a Donna Summner Discography.

The ones linted are ones you want to purchase.

Amazon needs to pull these releases.

- "Original Recordings" ? - Perhaps.....

This cd is actually a compilation of 2 seperate recording sessions- only one of which Donna Summer was an actual background singer. You can hear her voice on at least 3 tracks: "Little Marie", "They Can't Take Away Our Music", and "Nice To See You". If she is on any of the other trax, I certainly can't tell. The time period for these songs would be 1973 - 1974, because she did a whole lot of backup vocals for various producers and groups, and even released a few 45 singles, before recording her debut LP: "Lady Of The Night", which came out in 1975. The song "Back Off Bugaloo" actually came out in 1974 on the Ringo Starr LP: "Goodnight Vienna", so it makes sense that these Donna recordings would have been made at that time.

I realize these recordings were only released to cash in on her fame, but it is about all we have available of her material to purchase that covers her years before 1975. I found a few very expensive rare 45's on ebay that Donna put out as "Donna Gaines" in 1969, as well as a few 45's she put out as "Donna Summer" in 1972 and 1973. I just wish someone would put out a legit compilation of all her material from those years, instead of rehashing the same old stuff from 1976-1983. She deserves so much better respect than this cheap compilation.

- Unless you are a diehard fan, buy Live & More Encore instead

This CD is the latest incarnation of a collection of songs recorded by a not-yet-famous Diva. It has been released as "Fun Street", "Nice to See you", "Shout It Out", "Donna Summer & Friends", and "Donna Summer Live". If you are looking for a good lesser-known Donna Summer title, try "I'm A Rainbow", an album shelved by her record label in 1982, and released a few years ago by Polygram. It includes the studio version of Don't Cry for me Argentina, which has been a show stopper in her live performances for years.
