- Takes a while to get used to...

When I originally heard this CD, I was going to rate it 3 stars, but I decided to hold off on reviewing it for a few weeks.

You see, this isn't one of those CD's that you like instantly (especially by Christina standards), but if you keep listening to it, you'll like it more.

Anyway...

Christina starts us off with the title track "Bionic" saying that she's going to take over our minds and we'll shout her name "X-X-X-T-T-T-I-I-I-N-N-N-A".

The next song is "Not Myself Tonight", where Christina pretty much admits this album isn't who she is normally. In this Edited version, the F word is censored.

Then comes "Woohoo", a duet with new artist Nicki Minaj, where Christina and Nicki are flirting with guys, asking if they want to see their *woohoo*'s.

In "Elastic Love", Christina sings about loving a person whose love for her is like a rubber band 'cause it comes and goes over and over again.

"Desnudate" - if you speak Spanish, the title pretty much says it all. Christina wants a boy to take his clothes for her.

"Love and Glamour" + "Glam" is where Christina talks about fashion being a lifestyle and getting glam.

I haven't listened to "Breakfast" because of the title, but don't let that stop you from giving it a try.

The next part of the album is all about the ballads.

Starting with the song "Lift Me Up" where Christina wants her love to just lift her up and get her through this night.

"My Heart" is the best Intro on the album in my opinion. Christina's little boy says "mama" in the cutest way. :)

"All I Need" is then Christina's dedication to her son, Max, about him being all she needs. So sweet. :)

The second single on the CD, "You Lost Me", is about Christina's date turning out to be a cheater. Very sad. :/

"I Hate Boys" - well, not much more to say there. The title says it all. Christina doesn't like boys, at all. Which is kind of ironic considering she's married to one. ;P

"My Girls" is a duet with Peaches, about Christina and her g irls doing their thing, making music.

And the grand finale, "Vanity", is about Christina "not being cocky, but LOOOVVVINNGGG herself" - not really the best song in my opinion, but you can decide that for yourself.

So, in the end, this album is very underated; don't let all the negative reviews stop you from buying it. Again, you probably won't like it after just one listen, but it just keeps gettin' better. ;)

- I have to agree...

I'm a fan of all kinds of music and a longtime Christina fan, so I expected to enjoy her new album despite reading the criticisms of its electronica focus. It turns out, the reviewers who've commented before me aren't wrong, even if you like hip-hop and electronica. Chrstina still has her gorgeous voice of course, but I'm really not sure what she was thinking on this one. It's not so much that she couldn't settle on a style, but that each style wasn't done well. And the other reviewers are completely on target when they point out that you can't even tell it's Christina singing 3/4s of the time. What's the point of listening to so-so songs with a so-so voice, when we could have the real Christina? Also, I don't think I liked the lyrics on any of the songs on this entire album. Particularly Woohoo, which I believe is the next single from this album. The music itself is so-so, but the lyrics are just plain raunchy. The other songs' lyrics weren't much better, either. I'm sorry I paid for this album, but since I did, I'll give it a few more listens. I'll post an update if my opinion changes, though I doubt it will.

- An enjoyable romp

First of all, I can definitely understand all the negative comments about CA's latest, "Bionic." It's not quite the Christina Aguilera that many of her fans (myself included) know and love. Christina favors much vocal tweaking in this outing, which is a little disappointing, since I believe she possessess one of the greatest female voices in all of music.

Still, after one listen, I found that I enjoyed this quirky album. The reason for my opinion? The fact that Christina is a constantly evolving animal; she doesn't let fans settle into a groove, and that makes her CD fun. You absolutely never know that kind of Christina (or Xtina or Baby Jane) you're going to get when you pop in a new release. When she first hit the scene, she was another pop princess in the vein of Britney, Jessica, and Mandy. "Stripped" introduced us to the edgy, highly-sexual, dirrty girl Xtina. "Back to Basics" gave us old-school crooner Baby Jane. Now with "Bionic," we get a new, electrofied combination of everything.

Now, many of CA's fans are disappointed with her latest outing, but I give her kudos for constantly shaking her music up, knowing that it very well might cost her some fans. She makes music on her terms, with no apologies given, and that's cool.

- Christina Aguilera shines on her new album.

Another terrific album by the amazing and talented Christina Aguilera. She pulls out a lot of wonderful vocal styles here with a combination of upbeat, jazzy and melodic songs. Her range is wonderful and each song is one to hear over and over again, without skipping a single track. The Parental Advisory symbol is fitting here even though all of her songs on here hardly have bad language, because a few of the tracks do, and one has an implication of some pregorative sexual meanings.

She always comes up with new ways to incorporate her music to the world and with powerful vocals to match them. I give this album because each song is outstanding and to be loved by all fans of Christina(like me) and others who are just getting introduced to her music. Some of the stand out songs, even though they all are are Bionic, WOOHOO, You Lost Me(The video is terrific and matches the song perfectly),Desnudate, Lift Me Up, Glam and Prima Donna just to name a few. Parents if your kids are just getting into Christina Aguilera this is one album to not get them, but get her self-titled debut album which has songs that are more friendly for that age group.

- mmm better consult [...] before letting the kids listen

I grew up in an a family that was moderately strict and vigilant of the Parental Advisory sticker and has learned to put up at least a yellow light at the sight of the sticker and I say you should look at common sense media before letting your tweens and teens buy this thing or you may hear some f-bombs or some stuff you may not want your kid saying or imitating. This album could be a good test or maybe a limit to how explicit of music your child can or can't listen to.
