- Splendid!
Made in EU in 2000, Serial# 949-086-0, Playing Time 154:57
This 2-disc compilation covers CDB's career from 1980's "Eastern Wind" up to 1999's "Quiet Revolution".
There's already quite a few "greatest hits" packages released, but this one includes 2 previously unreleased tracks ("Patricia The Stripper 2000", a re-make of the song from the "Spanish Train..." album, plus "There's A New Star Up In Heaven Tonight".)
It also includes tracks that were "added" on earlier compilations, like "The Traveller", "The Waiting Heart" and "A Spaceman Came Travelling(1995 version)".
If your collection of CDB is not extensive, this album is a great choice; if you're unfamiliar with this rock "troubadour", or only know a few tracks, this item is a must: 2-and-a-half hours of listening enjoyment!

- What REAL Music Sounds Like
The 80s had produced alot of great artists, but sadly some have faded into that superhit land in the sky. Irish singer/songwriter Chris De Burgh is not to be forgotten. De Burgh is known for his vivid storytelling, powerful anthems and beautiful love ballads. Some may remember him for the 1987 hit song "Don't Pay the Ferryman." Well, there's more to his musical talent than "Ferryman" and "Lady in Red." His tribute to Princess Diana, "There's a New Star Up in Heaven Tonight" is stunning. It equals recognition with Elton John's tribute song, "Goodbye England's Rose." De Burgh's version is profoundly beautiful. "Missing You" makes my heart melt. Most of his best songs are covered on this album. But should include "Up Here in Heaven," "Much More Than This," "Forevermore" and "Suddenly Love" from the 'Love Songs Album' and "Timing Is Everything" from the title album, as is "Guilty Secret" and "Love and Time." Since the "Patricia" song appears on the album it's too bad "Spanish Train" wasn't added instead. Other than that it's must own of one of the best 80s artists that disappeared into infinity but left us some of the best made songs that won't be around again. If you're going to choose the "best of" then this is it.
- Enjoying this collection
I bought this for my husband. He loves Chris DeBurgh. He is enjoying this a lot. He thanks me at least every 2-3 days for it. Makes me smile.
- a nice surprise
I've been a lifelong fan of this artist and was overjoyed to see a few songs that are not in my collection. Discs one and two are a predictable pick of great material spanning almost three decades. The third disc is the gem containing rare pieces almost impossible to find. For the fan, this is a worthwhile investment, for someone less acquainted, this is a fantastic way to get an overall feel for what this man is capable of delivering, from a soft ballad to a full-throttle rock concert experience. Amazing music, well-versed stories, all in a terrific package. In my opinion, many songs were missing, but with as much incredible material as Chris has in his library, it does him justice, but there's so much more. That having been said, I would call this collection the tip of the ice deburgh, if you'll pardon the pun. Don't forget to check out his Moonfleet CD as well, arguably his best work to date containing some of the best music I've ever heard. If you're serious about real MUSIC that is WRITTEN and PLAYED by an ARTIST, then you won't be disappointed.
- From the heart
A painter uses a brush, a wood carver uses a knife, an artist uses their heart. In that respect this man is a true artist! Heavenly and inspirational says it all!!!
