- Classy Pop Perfection! An overlooked GEM!

China Crisis is an AMAZING and 'tight' pop alt rock band! Great vocals, great melodies, and a Steely Dan-esque jazzy feel to the music. One of the best 80's alternative bands by far, and largely overlooked, which is a crying shame. This band is the epitomy of great musicianship and pop songcraft. Their other great release to get is 'What Price Paradise'. Don't miss these two!

- In spite of allmusic's review this is a really weak album

Liking China Crisis has always been a secret pleasure for me. In many ways they tread a thin line between ingenious soul makers and tepid adult contemporary. This album crosses the line into the tepid. If you were able to find something wonderful under the saxophone cliches of "What Price Paradise" then you understand what I mean. This not that album and even though I have searched many times I can't find that sparkle that keeps this album from being just awful.
