Descripción (en inglés) :
Personnel: Carly Simon (vocals, acoustic guitar, piano); Mick Jagger, Paul & Linda McCartney, James Taylor (vocals); Paul Keough (acoustic guitar); Lowell George (slide guitar); Bobby Keyes (tenor saxophone); Peter Robinson (acoustic piano); Bill Payne (organ); Kirby Johnson (electric piano); Dave Henshaw (synthesizer); Klaus Voorman (bass); Andy Newmark, Jim Gordon (drums); Ray Cooper (congas); Richard Perry (percussion); Liza Strike, Vicki Johnson, Bonnie Bramlett, Doris Troy (background vocals).
Recorded at Trident Studios, London, England from September to October 1972.
All tracks have been digitally remastered using HDCD technology.
Carly Simon's third album, 1972's NO SECRETS, was her best-selling release ever, thanks to the inclusion of the huge hit single "You're So Vain." Speculation persists over the identity of the person so deftly skewered in this song (Simon's been quoted as saying that while there's elements of various people in the lyrics, "there's nothing there that isn't true of Warren Beatty"), to such an extent that the excellence of the rest of the album is often overlooked.
Besides the gospel-tinged hit "The Right Thing to Do" and a moving tribute to the Carter Family, "We Have No Secrets" is a confessional delight, and "Waited So Long" and James Taylor's "Night Owl" are two of the most rocking songs Simon ever recorded. Exquisitely produced and smartly sequenced, NO SECRETS has just the right balance of slick studio polish and soulful rough edges to make this a classic of '70s singer-songwriter pop.
Carly Simon's third album, 1972's NO SECRETS, was her best-selling release ever, thanks to the inclusion of the huge hit single "You're So Vain." - If I had to keep only 10 albums (or CDs)...

... this would be one of them. "No Secrets" is one of those classic '70's albums like Carol King's "Tapestry." Every song is perfect and as an emsemble, in their cronological order, compliment and accentuate each other. My two favorite songs besides the classic hits on the album are "His Friends Are More Than Fond of Robin" (due to an unrequited love I had at the time with a girl by the same name) and "When You Close Your Eyes," which has a spiritual side that gives me such a feeling of inner peace and tranquility like no other song can. Of course, to be be politically incorrect for a moment, if I can, this is my all-time favorite album cover. Carly Simon... that pose, those eyes, that hair, those lips! Fortuantely, she is as beautiful on the inside as on the outside. Ms. Simon has an intellect, wit, wisdom, and caring side that no other female artist has ever been able to match in my eyes. She has such a balance, calmness, and sincerity when she speaks (and sings!) that I always come away feeling I have learned something and a better person for the experience. Altrusium is alive and well today because it is imbedded in Carly Simon. The "No Secrets" songs are timeless. Even today they can almost transport me back to the person I was 30 years ago when the album came out with all my wonderful life experiences at that time. How many albums and artists can you really say that about? Of course, Ms. Simon has such an incredible, inspirational, motivating volume of work that we're all the better for by listening to. As I said, however, for all the long time fans and good people just getting to know this incredible talent and person, this would be my first recommendation... and if I could only keep just one of her albums, I would vote for "No Secrets" hands down.

- I would like to be his alone/But I'm shy and can't demand it

My favorite Carly Simon album by far, "No Secrets", though slight at only ten songs, has some of Carly's best work.

In "The Carter Family", Simon has a song that would work just as well as a poem, and carries a message of appreciation through to an interesting conclusion. The infamous "You're so Vain" is a rollicking, savage character study of an unnamed womanizer. Simon's biggest hit, "Vain" is funny, provoking, and hopelessly catchy. (You go Carly!) "His Friends are More Than Fond of Robin" is my all time fave Carly song, and one of my favorite songs period. One of the loveliest unrequited love songs ever written, "Robin" by itself is reason to buy this album. Beautiful lyrics, beautifully sung.

"It Was So Easy" features excellent guitar work and a delicate melody, and "Night Owl" has Carly shifting to an almost honkytonk sound. "Embrace Me You Child" is another solid entry, although I have to admit I don't much care for either "We Have No Secrets" or "Waited So Long".

On the whole, however, this is a strong record from a wonderful singer/songwriter and an essential for any 70's collection.

- One of the best Audio Fidelity remasters

What a joy it was listening to this remastered version of Carly Simon's No Secrets. Audio Fidelity has a winner here. There is a depth to the soundscape that is hard to reproduce during the mastering stage. Dynamics are preserved making this a must-have for all serious and casual Carl Simon fans. You won't find a better sounding version of this release out there.

- Love at First Listen

I first heard this album when I was about thirteen years old and fell in love with Carly Simon. This is a magnificent collection of thoughtful songs which take you on an emotional roller-coaster ride. Carly's writing is superb, and she sings so wonderfully-sometimes softly and oh so powerfully at other times. I feel that she is one of the greatest female vocalists in the music industry and is superbly talented and classy, unlike the minimally talented female trash buckets who soil the music scene today, beginning with Madonna right on up to Britney Spears. Carly Simon is, on the other hand, a true musician and a magnificently gifted singer. Give "No Secrets" a listen if you haven't yet done so. You'll fall in love with her too.
