- "A Different Beat" contains some of the best Pop of the 90s
"A Different Beat" and "Paradise" and "Words" and "Isn't it a wonder" and "It's Time" were written by the boys themselves. The music and the lyrics are suited for each other and produce handsome songs that never become dull. Yet "Ben" and "Never Stop Looking For Love", which were not originally written by Boyzone, are in my opinion the more expressive and impressive ones, because of the gifted voice of Stephen Gately, who seems to sing from the bottom of his heart. He does have dramatic talent, and makes use his voice in a way I had never heard before: it is a lovely and kind angelical voice. Of course, there are poor silly songs like "Games of Love". But the fact is that the album "A Different Beat" never becomes monotonous, as the inclusion of the last song "She Moves Through The Fair" shows - and who knows this folk-like song isn't a hidden wish of Boyzone to sing out their Irish roots?
- Different Beat is Different Sound
I'm a late comer to the boyzone scene. I avoid American pop at all costs, but Irish pop I whole heartedly embrace. Irish pop is different because boyzone (as clearly seen with this exceptional CD) laid the ground work as the first Irish pop group. All the vocals are good, but Stephen Gately's vocals dominate the CD by far, in both number and quality with songs like "Don't Stop Looking for Love." Songs like "Mystical Experience" and "Different Beat" show what a great vocal pair Ronan Keating and Stephen Gately created. The band may have disbanded officially in 2000, but thier music still exists in CDs like this one. (US edition of CD with Spanglish versions of "Words" and "Mystical Experience.")

- Fantastic
I love this cd as well as their two others. Ronan has a awesome voice and I like his accent very much. The lyrics in their songs are so true, it's unbelievable.

- Hang on to your hats!!
Canada here -- we don't have Boyzone yet, they haven't hit our market. I saw them on Andrew Lloyd Webber's 50 Bday bash on television the other night. They are going to hit this market hard and they better be ready for mobbing girls. Their voices were beautiful and the song they did, "What ever" is really uplifting. We don't know their names yet but I will guarantee you, in two years they'll be on the top of the North American charts. Good luck guys and enjoy the ride. If only we could find a website with information about the group.
