Blake Lewis: 'Where was the excitement'?
USA Today -
Big Stage, Big Voices but no BIG performance. I watched American Idol twice Tuesday night to see if I had missed anything. Had I? I was hoping to be blown away by someone's stunning performance, and, sadly, I was not.

Blake Lewis: 'Floored' by Michael Lynche's 'This Woman's Work'
USA Today -
I couldn't help but laugh out loud at the opening of Wednesday's American Idol. Ryan Seacrest went down the row of guys, calling out their names, trying to make it über-dramatic, just to reach the end of the line and say "This Is American Idol!" It was so cheesy I giggled.

Blake Lewis: Siobhan Magnus 'is a ninja'
USA Today -
The ladies held it down Wednesday on American Idol. The night started off with the return of Crystal Bowersox singing Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Long As I Can See the Light. Still don't know what happened while she was sick, but she came out on top with her performance. At the end of the night, the judges gave her a lot of props.

Blake Lewis: Michael Lynche 'set the bar high' for guys
USA Today -
Blake Lewis returns with the latest installment of his guest blog for Idol Chatter: "The night started off with Michael Lynche singing 'It’s a Man’s, Man’s, Man's World' by James Brown, and he set the bar high for the night. Blake Lewis: Top 12 guys didn't 'blow it out of the water'
USA Today -
Wednesday night, we got our first real look into all of the dudes of American Idol Season 9. I was hoping they were all going to blow it out of the water, but it didn't happen. I was really disappointed at all the song choices the ladies brought to the stand on Tuesday. At least last night, the guys made much better choices.

Blake Lewis: Top 12 girls 'missed the boat'
USA Today -
Last night we got to listen to the top 12 ladies of American Idol Season 9, and, to be honest, I was sadly unimpressed. I was really hoping to see some knock-out performances and some great song choices. Granted, this is the first night of live television, and there are definitely some nerves going around: I just felt like they missed the boat with the entertainment factor and song choices.

Orlando, Day Two: Beatboxing and beyond
USA Today -
Jay Stone starts the day with a beatbox-inspired version of The Beatles' Come Together. If Blake Lewis had been the novelty act some people expected him to be, he would've sounded like Jay. Jay's skills are pretty impressive, in a way, but they're absolutely not right for this show.
