Belinda Album: “Belinda”

I love female Mexican pop stars like Thal?a and Paulina Rubio, so when I saw the cover of Belinda's CD in Mexico, I was intrigued. But, alas, it was in the children's section of the store, even though the song titles didn't seem like they were addressed towards children. Later, I happened to buy a CD mix that included Belinda's "Lo siento" and I knew right away that I had to buy the album.

Though only 15, Belinda has a strong, steady voice, which is capable of expressing emotions with a pleasantly sweet rawness, as in "?D?nde ir? yo?" All of the songs on this CD are well-written. And all show sophisticated instrumentalization, as exemplified in the low, rumbling start to "Sin dolor."

If you are looking for well-crafted, yet nicely sweet pop songs, you can't go wrong with Belinda.

Until about three weeks ago I had never heard of Belinda. I heard one of her songs on an internet radio station, and I like it so much that I purchased her CD -- I can honestly say that I'm very glad I did.

She is a very talented singer with lots of room to grow. She (or rather her production team...) does a good job of producing fun and original pop and pop-rock melodies while staying away from some proxy hip-hopish (i.e. US urban) things that I'm starting to see coming from many latin american artists. Overall almost every one of her songs is very catchy, enough to be singles in some markets.

My favorite tracks are #2, #4, #5 and #10.

Como muchas otras personas, yo estaba en desacuerdo con la idea de una Belinda actriz, y despues de una Belinda cantante, hasta que un dia oi por accidente en Mtv Latinoamerica a Belinda, con la cancion "lo siento ", realmente esta cancion me atrapo, cosa que me espanto, pues yo pensaba que la musica de Belinda era solo para ninos, al final de tantas dudas, decidi a comprar el disco y mi sorpresa fue realmente grande al darme cuenta de que esta no era la Belinda que se nos habia presentado en un principio, aqui se presentaba a una senorita en plena adolescencia, con un disco maduro (para su edad), y unas liricas con las que cualquier joven o adolescente se puede relacionar,con unos muy buenos arreglos musicales, creo que uno como fan busca musica que le entretenga, que le haga pasar ratos agradables, y no "musica" que esta hecha para llenar los bolsillos de otros, que por suerte, este no es el caso,asi que este disco lo recomiendo para gente sin prejuicios, talvez no sea un disco innovador, mas es un disco inteligente, bien hecho, y diferente a lo acostumbrado en la musica pop en espanol o al menos a la musica en Mexico.

Belinda's great, and she gives you that "edge" of ska and punk. If you like No Doubt, then you'll definitely like Belinda. She's cute and talented. Wow. What a combination! My favorite song is number #9
