Belinda Carlisle Album: “Place on Earth: Greatest Hits”

This is a record with wonderful pop/rock songs performed by one of the most beutiful voices within the genre. Songs like Heaven is a place on earth, La Luna, Circles in the Sand and I get Weak all remind us of the glory days of the eighties and fills us with the summer feeling. High choruses, well performed music and the world class voice of the beutiful Belinda Carlisle makes this music fit for all kinds of events. The second CD also includes excellent dance versions of Heaven is a place on earth, I get weak, Circles in the sand, as well as some other hits from the first CD. Highly recommended if you like the voice of Belinda! But who doesn't?

Frankly folks, I bought this for ONE SONG - the Long Version of "Circle in the Sand (7:51) which, by the way, is an excellent, mellow mix that should have gone on for 30 minutes (or more!) The extended mixes are on a bonus second disk! I got a used copy that sounds excellent - so, I saved a "tidy little sum" and reaped some special music! For Belinda Carlisle's collection "A Place on Earth - The Greatest Hits," Five stars!!

If you are a Belinda Fan....like me, you'll thorougly enjoy this one. Great sound quality and some nice new song additons from earlier best of.

Unfortunately I had all of the classic songs but this is the only CD that had All God's Children. Damn Amazon MP3 and iTunes for not carrying everything Belinda Carlisle! ;

Place on Earth: Greatest Hits was Carlisle's second greatest hits album and contained such hits like "Heaven is a place on earth", "I get weak" and "Circle in The Sand" to just mention a few. The booklet is quite nice but some of the photos are a bit small. The decision to have black text on silver is confounding as it is quite difficult to read. 4/5.
