- One of my fave music dvd's
What a great DVD! I've never seen an Avril Lavigne concert before buying this DVD, but now I can't wait for her to tour again, because she's great. She sings live throughout, and puts on an excellent performance. Even more amazing when you consider that she's still a teenager!. The concert is filled with energy, and you'll soon be cranking up the volume on your tv. Of course it helps that the only album's worth of material she has out, is brilliant to start off with. There are no "fillers" on the "Let go" album, so not surprisingly Avril performs the entire album here. All of your favorites are here, from the massive hit "Complicated" to an acoustic version of "Tomorrow". On top of the album tracks, there are also some more great songs, including "I don't give", "Knockin' on heaven's door" and a fantastic cover of Green Day's hit "Basketcase". The concert lasts for about 70 minutes, is a sheer joy to watch from start to finish.
As if that wasn't enough, there are also some other awesome extras that make this a must-have DVD!. Firstly you get all of Avril's music videos, a great 40 min (approx) behind-the-scenes documentary following her around on tour, some outtakes, a photo gallery, AND a 6-track audio cd!. What more could you ask for?.
This DVD/CD release is amazing value for money. Its great that Arista have put everything a fan could want onto one DVD, rather than trying to make more money by releasing the music videos separately on another DVD or something. For me this is worth the money just for the concert itself, so everything else is a great bonus. With a superb debut album and now DVD under her belt, I can't wait for Avril's next album.

- Better and Better!
The live performance part of this DVD really shows off Avril's style. It seems clear that the editing was kept to minimum and this has enhanced the live quality of the performance. The 5.1 surround is great and also so adds to the live feel. The backstage piece also works well and it would seem that Avril is not afraid let her fans see the real backstage antics of the band. Road tours are always tiring and hard on the performers and you can see a little of this also. Liked the Japan clip but am wondering how it ended up on the North American Tour! The DVD also has five videos on it with Knocking on Heavens Door as the only new one. The CD is also a nice added bonus and makes for a great listen. This is the perfect fan collection thanks Avril!

- This DVD is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
I love Avril Lavigne she is so talented and she is a great song writer. Avril is one of my favorite artists. the reason baught this DVD,besides me loving Avril, was because my friend won 4 tickets to go to the premiere of this DVD. When she told me I was like o sh*t,you need to give them to me because I love Avril. of course she gave them to me. I got really excited when i found out Avril was going to be there in person! The Premiere was on November 3rd,2003 at 7p.m. at the AMC Empire 25 Theater in New York city. I waited for three hours on the red carpet outside to get in and,I was in the front of the line. Unfortunately I didnt get to see Avril on the red carpet because the had to let us in early so we could get to our seats. Avril went to TRL and did some interviews before the premiere so, got there around 7:45 and she went in and I saw her,she was so beautiful she looks better in person, she was wearing a white tank top with black jeans and a black jacket. She wwas only three rows infront of me. She thanked us for coming out to see her and,she went out to get popcorn for herself. The premiere was great they showed everything from the DVD and a few songs from the concert.I had so much fun! To my surprise Avril was sitting right behind me!!!!!!!!!!!! I didnt even know it until she got up from her seat to leave because she had to do more interviews.
a week later I baught the DVD and obviously I knew what was on it,on the DVD it had all of her music videos and everything else was the same. One thing I noticed was that Avril's voice changed it wasn't that high piched teen voice that was on her album,Let GO.Its not she can't sing anymore its just that her voice evolved from a teenager's voice to a woman's voice. She was much younger when she recorded the album she was 16 and now she is 19. And she is so true to her fans that go to her shows that she wont lypsync. The live versions of the songs sound even better than the recorded versions on the album. This DVD is great it has bonus CD with 6 songs on it including 2 covers, Knockin'on heaven's door by Billy Joel and,Basketcase by Greenday. This DVD is defenetly worth every penny of your money and even if you dont like Avril youll find something about it you like,Hey it might even cause you to like her.

- Everything wasn't okay
Show-3 stars
Extras/Bonus CD-4.5 stars
Overall-3.75 stars
The back of this DVD screams "Avril like she's never been seen before", and while that may be true, it's still nothing to write home about. Don't get me wrong, I like Avril Lavigne just as much as the next person but this performance is just above being mediocre. Sure all the energy that makes a show great is there, she sounds good through about 3/4 of the concert and the band sounds like they do on the CD. Why the meager rating then? As much as I like Let Go I don't think that gave her grounds to release a concert in which she plays pretty much every song on it. There's songs I'm just flat out sick of by now so I don't really want to see them played live. However, Losing Grip, amazing.
The real reason to buy this is for the bonus CD. I personally liked her rendition of the Metallica great Fuel simply because it was so different from the original. Also, one of my favorite Avril songs is included, Knockin' On Heaven's Door. Performed acoustically, Avril's voice has never sounded more pristine and sincere. The DVD extras aren't too shabby either. The videos, minus Sk8er Boi, are pretty good and the inclusion of Knockin' only impressed me more. And the behind-the-scenes will be fun for any fan to see.
Basically if you like Avril enough to buy a CD of hers you'll like this as well. While the show isn't particularly mind-blowing the CD and extras more than make up for it. So yeah, if you can find it cheap (12.99 isn't bad but I found it for 6.99 so just keep an eye out) then by all means check it out.
