Análisis (en inglés) - :
{$Amber} broadened her roster of collaborators for her self-titled second album, looking beyond {$the Berman Brothers}, who had single-handedly produced her smash-hit debut album three years earlier. Despite the infusion of new talent -- including songwriters/producers {$Wolfram Dettki}, {$Rick Nowels}, and {$Billy Steinberg}, who split the 12 songs with {$the Berman Brothers} -- this album doesn't sound much different from {$Amber}'s first, again employing an archetypal late-'90s {\Euro-dance} sound and driven primarily by huge, huge club hits: {&"Sexual (La Da Di)"} and {&"Above the Clouds."} The other songs aren't filler by any means but do sound a bit lackluster relative to the melodic bombast of the hits. Don't be surprised if you find yourself returning to these two hits and the bonus-track remix of {&"Sexual"} over and over rather than playing out the album. {@Tommy Boy} re-released {^Amber}, originally released in late 1999, two years later as {^Amber + the Greatest Hits} with the addition of several bonus tracks. These additional five tracks are a noteworthy bonus for sure, coupling {$Thunderpuss}' fiery {\house} mixes of the album's two big hits and the similarly chart-topping yet non-album {&"Taste the Tears"} with two versions of {$Amber}'s signature song, {&"This Is Your Night"} (the original version from 1996 and also {$Junior Vasquez}'s remix). Since {@Tommy Boy} is able to cram all of this onto one disc, there's really no reason to bother with the original release of {^Amber} if you can get your hands on this remix-laced bonus-track release for relatively the same price. In fact, the {$Thunderpuss} remixes arguably top the tamer, more toned-down original mixes of the album's two big draws anyway, and {&"Taste the Tears"} is a necessity, definitely on a par with any of {$Amber}'s hits, so you'll definitely want to look for this re-release, particularly if you're interested primarily in just the club hits. ~ Jason Birchmeier , All Music Guide
